First reported @
abbotsfordtimes.com They were seized from suspected puppy mill operators who they say have bred dogs in different Fraser Valley locations. He also reportedly owns a pet store that sells dogs and puppies. “These people are well known to us and we have dealt with numerous complaints about sick and neglected animals in their care,” Marcie Moriarty, general manager of cruelty investigations for the BC SPCA, said in a press release. The SPCA said the dogs were living in poor conditions and some were badly matted. They also suffered from a number of untreated health problems, including ulcerated eyes, dental disease and badly overgrown nails. Moriarty said the owner of the dogs has previously been asked several times to improve conditions for the animals. He complied in those instances. “In this particular instance we received a call from a member of the public regarding dogs on a property in Abbotsford,” Moriarty said.
