ust as a farmer tills the soil to grow crops, the entire community must work together to cultivate economic growth.

At the Canton Regional Chamber, we take an integrated approach to our work across established programs in the areas of public policy, education & workforce, diversity & inclusion, and economic development, with the goal of developing and maintaining a dynamic economic ecosystem to support business attraction, retention, and development. Through our work, we strive to make the Akron-Canton region the ideal environment for attracting and developing world-class talent and new business investment. Looking back on 2022, the figurative landscape looked much different than just a few years ago. As conditions evolved in recent years, the Chamber has remained innovative, flexible and collaborative in all areas to foster continued success. I am so proud of our executive management team and staff for their dedication not only to keeping our ecosystem strong, but helping it to flourish.

IN THIS ISSUE

Collyn Floyd, VP of Events and Marketing Strategy led her team to produce dozens of events, including the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival events alongside our partners at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This year’s events were among the best I have witnessed throughout my tenure.

The future may be unknown, but one thing is certain- the Canton Regional Chamber is committed to cultivating business, cultivating community, and Cultivating Growth.

I am also pleased to say this year’s Leadership Stark County Signature Program class is the largest it’s been in recent years- further evidence of the dedication of our local employers for developing and engaging their talent. With our region’s urgent need for talented workers top of mind, Barb Bennett, VP of Education & Workforce, continues to break new ground with innovative programs serving the manufacturing industry-sector. These are just a few of the many outstanding accomplishments of our team, made possible through the strong network of members, sponsors, participants, and partners of the Chamber. As we reflect back with pride, we look ahead to 2023 with optimism and intention.
