Taste in Canton Celebrates 10th and Final Year with a Successful Event

Downtown Canton was filled with the aroma of delicious food, the sound of live music, and the laughter of families and friends on Sunday, September 28, as the community gathered for the 10th annual and final Taste in Canton. The event proved to be a memorable celebration, closing out a decade-long tradition on a high note.

This year’s Taste in Canton featured 17 food vendors, 11 of them local, each showcasing their signature dishes and sweet treats. From savory favorites to unique specialties, attendees had no shortage of options to enjoy. White Oaks Sports Bar kept spirits high by serving refreshing adult beverages, while H&A Party Rentals brought excitement for younger guests with colorful inflatables that kept kids entertained all afternoon. The Monster Lane Band delivered outstanding live entertainment, adding energy and fun to the atmosphere.

The weather couldn’t have been better, providing the perfect backdrop for one last Taste in Canton. For 10 years, this event has brought together local businesses, musicians, and residents in a celebration of food and community spirit. It has been a wonderful opportunity to highlight the talent and flavors of our region while creating cherished memories. We thank all of the food vendors over the years that have made the Taste in Canton a success for so many years.

As we close this chapter, we reflect with gratitude on the success of Taste in Canton. While it has been a staple in our community calendar, the time has come for something new. The Canton Area Chamber of Commerce looks forward to exploring fresh opportunities and innovative events that will continue to bring people together, provide high quality entertainment, and showcase all that Canton has to offer. We have an amazing community!

DG DETAILING, LLC

DG Detailing, LLC was officially launched in May 2024, shortly after owner Dylan Grigsby graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. What started as a personal passion for keeping his own vehicle in pristine condition has quickly grown into a full-time business dedicated to delivering high-quality auto detailing services.

DG Detailing offers a range of professional services designed to restore, protect, and maintain your vehicle. Services include interior detailing, exterior detailing, paint correction, and ceramic coating application. Each service is carried out with careful attention to detail and an emphasis on long-lasting results.

Dylan’s background in detailing began during his college years, when he had the opportunity to shadow and work alongside a member of the International Detailing Association. This experience gave him valuable industry knowledge and hands-on training. In August 2024, he became a Certified Ceramic Coating Installer through C6 Ceramics, ensuring that DG Detailing, LLC clients receive service backed by professional training and proven expertise.

Dylan states, “At DG Detailing, I take pride in serving the community by helping people protect their investments and maintain their vehicles’ value. Whether it’s restoring a vehicle’s original shine or applying advanced ceramic coatings for long-term protection, my goal is always to deliver results that exceed expectations.”

Entrepreneurship has been a lifelong interest of Dylan’s, and auto detailing allowed him to combine that passion with his love for cars. What started as a hobby quickly became a business built on trust, care, and quality. “My philosophy own. Each customer receives personalized,

professional service with clear communication about how to get the most value from their detailing experience.” From daily drivers to collector cars, every project is treated with the same level of dedication and attention.

TIME CAPSULE SUBMISSION BY 2 GRADERS ND

In last month’s Chamber Courier, there was information on how anyone can make a submission to put inside the 2025 Time Capsule; deadline October 31st. Well, there was a pretty special group that was in Jones Park putting in their own submission! Canton’s 151 second graders from the three elementary schools in the district…Lincoln, Eastview, and Westview…were given the opportunity to make their own contributions to the time capsule.

Bicentennial Chair, Mike Walters, worked with Lincoln School Principal KiLee LidwellMcFerren, Westview School Principal Kaylah Harris, Eastview School Principal Jason Pollitt, and the district’s second grade teachers, to create an opportunity for these students to write their own letters and then had the opportunity to drop their letter inside the actual time capsule box. They also enjoyed a snack and a presentation from historian Mike Walters.

CHAMBER MEMBER BENEFITS

Canton Area Chamber of Commerce: Ribbon Cuttings and Member Benefits

One of the many perks of being a member of the Canton Area Chamber of Commerce is the opportunity to celebrate your business with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Ribbon cuttings are offered to new businesses, expanding or relocating businesses, and even those that have rejoined the Chamber after a break. These special events are a way to spotlight your hard work and officially mark important milestones in your business journey.

The Canton Chamber doesn’t just cut the ribbon and leave it at that we go the extra mile to promote your business. Once the photo is taken, it is shared with local newspapers, the area radio station, and featured on the Canton Chamber Facebook page. It is also included in the Chamber Member Minute email, which reaches more than 350 Chamber members. This visibility helps spread the word about your business to the broader community while keeping you connected with other local leaders.

Of course, ribbon cuttings are just one of the many benefits of Chamber membership. Members can enjoy networking opportunities through our monthly After Hours Mixers, stay informed about community events and initiatives, and use the Chamber as a platform to promote business news whether it’s a big sale, welcoming a new employee, announcing a promotion, or posting a job opening. When you’re running a business, the Chamber becomes a true partner, connecting you with the right people and resources to help you succeed.

This year, the Canton Area Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated 100 years of service. For a century, we have supported our business community, and we plan to continue serving as a trusted partner and advocate to help our members thrive for the next 100 years and beyond.
