Canowindra Show Returns For A Big Weekend Of Community, Competition And Entertainment

Canowindra Show Society President, Jacob Moriarty.

The Canowindra Show Society is excited to welcome the community back for the 2026 Canowindra Show, with two days of traditional show attractions, livestock competitions, family entertainment and community spirit. The Show officially kicks off on Friday, 25 September, with gates opening at 4:00pm, followed by an evening showcasing everything you’d expect from a traditional country show. Friday highlights will include the Canowindra Pony Club Day (for Canowindra Pony Club members only) along with judging of

the Cobley Pavilion entries, prime sheep and wool. From 5:30pm onwards, there will be plenty of fun on offer with children's games in front of the grandstand. A licensed bar will be open and there will be live entertainment from 7:00pm featuring Bathurst band, Wildcard. The excitement continues Saturday, 26 September, with gates opening at 8:00am and a packed program of events and attractions for visitors of all ages. Saturday highlights will include the popular Farmers Sheep Dog Challenge from 8:30am, horse ring events and judging of the poultry, stud beef cattle and the Australian British Breeds sheep. Don't miss the other popular drawcards including the woodchopping, vintage tractor pull, car, ute & bike show, shearing competition, dog high jump, animal nursery, market stalls and face painting. The Official Opening of the 2026 Show will be held at 11:00am. Canowindra Show Society President Jacob Moriarty said the annual show continues to be one of the community's most important events, bringing together local families, exhibitors, businesses and volunteers. "The Canowindra Show is a celebration of our agricultural heritage and the strong community spirit that makes our district special," Mr Moriarty said.
