Increasing use of network and data cables between audio and video devices on location calls for a Category 5E cable that is designed specifically for deployable use. Basic Category 5E F/UTP is a relatively inflexible installation cable, and even the slightly more flexible patchcord type still has very poor handling characteristics. This Category 5E cable has been designed specifically for the professional audio and video user, and is intended to handle like a typical microphone cable.
This special version of Canford’s CAT5E-F flexible Cat5E cable has a polyurethane outer jacket providing greater abrasion resistance (but slightly less flexibility) than the PVC on the standard design. Otherwise it is a similar F/UTP construction. The greater heat tolerance of polyurethane may be useful.
A reduced size version of Canford CAT5E-F, designed specifically for installations where a very flexible screened Category 5E cable is required. The core construction and jacket material is identical to CAT5E-F; the difference is only in the jacket thickness. It is particularly useful for wiring racks.
4 core and 8 core deployable Cat5E cables, for both studio and touring/OB applications, based on Canford’s CAT5E-F screened flexible cable..
Heavy duty versions (formerly called ‘touring’) use the standard CAT5E-F 6.2mm diameter flexible cable, with colour coded and numbered individual jackets. The overall jacket has a tough layer of PUR (polyurethane) for abrasion resistance. PUR provides excellent wearing characteristics in the harsher environment of outside broadcast and touring applications.
Flexible versions (formerly called ‘studio’) have a design optimised to give the best possible flexibility, and uses the CAT5E-F-M 5.8mm diameter cable, with colour coded and numbered individual jackets. The overall jacket is soft PVC for optimum flexibility.
Increasing use of network and data cables between audio and video devices on location calls for a Category 6 cable that is designed specifically for deployable use. Basic Category 6 UTP is a relatively inflexible installation cable, and even the slightly more flexible patchcord type still has very poor handling characteristics in deployed applications.
The growing use of network and data connections between audio and video devices on location has created the need for a Category 7 cable designed specifically for deployable use. Standard Category 7 installation cables are relatively inflexible, while even the more pliable patchcord types offer poor handling characteristics when used in deployment rather than simple patching applications. This Category 7 cable has been designed specifically for the professional audio and video user and is intended to handle like a typical microphone cable. It has recently been approved by Waves Audio for use with their Waves Audio Soundgrid systems. It has an extra flexible individually screened 4 pair core structure with an overall braid screen that maintains Category 7 performance, then a rugged polyurethane outer jacket, to give superb flexibility and handling characteristics. Suitable for use with both standard RJ45 connectors (round entry version), the Neutrik etherCON and most other ruggedised RJ45 designs, or any other connector with a suitably sized entry gland. The cable is also suitable for DMX512 applications.
A carefully curated range of etherCON and RJ45 data cable assemblies utilising varieties of Cat5, Cat6, and Cat7 cables.
Anthra line cables are designed to be the ‘professional choice’. They feature triple shielding with copper and tinned copper conductors for peak performance and corrosion resistance.

Dante enabled press splitters are used to avoid the unsightly clutter that results at events such as press conferences, when every broadcasting organisation present tries to erect a microphone directly in front of the speaker, precisely where the cameramen would rather they did not. The splitter takes a small number of inputs from microphones or the local mixer and distributes the signal to a large number of outputs for use by the media.
These microphone splitters divide a single feed to three outputs. Output 1, typically used for the main mixer, passes phantom power to the microphone. Features XLR 3-pin connectors – female input, male outputs.
An evolution of the standard diecast loudspeaker, this powered, Dante-enabled unit is designed to be robust and cost-effective. Suitable for talkback, line listening, cue programme, monitoring, or small PA use. Featuring two Dante channel inputs via RJ45 and operates in two modes: single-channel monitoring or single-channel monitoring and a mixed output of both channels.
The compact unit features two small elliptical loudspeakers driven by two, independent, balanced-input amplifiers, with individual channel volume controls. Naturally these units are intended for checking the presence or content of a source, not its ultimate quality.
Miniature, passive designs, requiring no power, LEN SDI splitters are a direct equivalent to the use of a Distribution Amplifier to create additional SDI signals, for most applications. LEN Splitters are also often used for applications such as additional monitor feeds in remote camera locations, and in situations where size and weight are critical factors, such as racing cars, bikes and other sporting and research applications.

Green-GO is an IP-based intercom system that connects devices using regular network switches with PoE. It doesn’t need a central processing unit, so there is no single point of failure. The system is flexible, scalable, and cost-effective, offering low latency, high audio quality, and 32 channels for communication. It supports both private and public communications and can integrate with external audio systems.

Made from aluminium the 1U rack light offers a light weight robust construction. The rack light can be quickly changed from white light to one of six colour options using the front mounted rocker switch. The colour can be pre-selected using the RGB dip switches on the rear of the unit and is powered via a 12v 2A plug in PSU. Connection is via a 2.1mm locking DC connector to ensure a solid connection when used within mobile racks. A USB socket is included on the front panel allowing for charging a mobile phone or similar device. Being only 100mm deep the rack light can easily fit behind most equipment installed within a rack.
The LED Racklight mounts in an equipment rack and provides a high-brightness light source to illuminate the controls of equipment mounted in the rack below it. Designed to keep the spillage of light to a minimum, the Racklight is highly useful not only back-stage and in equipment rooms, but also, in some positions, within a venue.
As a distributor of the Littlite brand, Canford stock a range of Littlite products including littlite gooseneck task lights.
