Campervans under 5 metres
A campervan has at least a hob and a sink and will usually have seats which convert to a bed and possibly a bed in an elevating roof. A campervan does not usually have a separate washroom nor a facility for one but may be equipped with a Porta-Potti style toilet. A campervan will have either a fixed roof, an elevating roof or have a high-top roof. These can be converted from the small van market, for example from the Volkswagen T6 van.
Know which licence you need to drive each vehicle?
Category B
Anyone can drive vehicles that weigh up to 3500kg.
Category C1
If you received your driving licence after 1 January 1997 an additional driving test is required. If you have a C1 licence already but wish to retain it once you reach 70 years of age, you will need to pass a medical examination.

The wider cab normally accommodates a drop-down roof bed which can be left made up ready for use, and the cab seats usually swivel to form part of a spacious lounge area when on site.
