Candlelighters For Children With Cancer publishes Candlelighters FAMILY Connections six times a year to provide news and other information to families affected by cancer in Oregon and SW Washington.
Our mission is to provide a community of healing, hope, and light throughout the life-long journey of childhood cancer. We advocate, we educate, we build partnerships, and we foster solidarity for all families experiencing cancer.

Bereaved Parents Night Out is an opportunity for bereaved parents to come together to share a meal and form community. Meal will be served buffet style and will be hosted by bereaved parent and Candlelighters Programs Committee Member, Melissa Cliffton.

Zoo Lights Registration: 4:30pm – 5:30pm Oregon Zoo 4001 SW Canyon Rd Portland, OR 97221 Bundle up and come celebrate the Holiday Season amid the sparkling lights and brilliant hues of Zoo Lights. Candlelighters will be stationed inside the plaza area as you go through the gates, look for the Candlelighters signs, and staff and volunteers with glow sticks. DO NOT Stand in line at the ticket booth! You will be given your complimentary tickets for admission and train at our check in table.

The Zoo Train should be running again this year. If you would like train tickets please specify the number of tickets you need when you register or we will not be able to secure tickets for you. This event is open to Candlelighters families and their IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS ONLY, diagnosed within the last 10 years and bereaved families within the last 10 years. **Please come prepared to pay for parking. Parking meters accept credit or coin. Please RSVP no later than November 23rd and please provide the following information: • First and last name of parents/guardians, names of all children attending (please spell the last name, if leaving a phone message) • Phone number • Ages of each family member attending. (This is for pre-purchasing the tickets, the age categories are, Adult 12-64, Seniors 65 +, Child 3-11, 2 & under free) • Parents must accompany children when picking up tickets
