YES 2021 Evaluation Report
Executive Summary
CREation’s Youth Empowerment Stream (YES) 2021 funded a wide range of projects that included activities like arts and crafts where Indigenous youth could connect with their culture to land based adventures where Indigenous youth learned more about their environments and gained traditional knowledge from Elders. The YES 2021 grants supported youth in funding their project supplies and most grantees stated that their programming was succesful in empowering Indigenous youth. The challenges that Youth Leader’s shared about in reporting involved scheduling, pandemic restrictions, and keeping participation counts up, but grantees were able to persevere with being flexible, pivoting, and tapping into available community supports.
