Executive Summary The Youth Empowerment Stream 2025 distributed a total of $65,000 to 13 Indigenous youth-led projects and initiatives. Creation received 44 proposals from 9 Provinces and Territories, representing a funding request of $238,025. Projects funded through the Youth Empowerment Stream 2025 focused on creating opportunities for Indigenous youth to deepen their connections to culture, develop their leadership capacity, and build a stronger sense of community. Grantees reported that grant funding primarily supported them in providing youth with access to cultural programming. Seeing youth become more confident and more actively engaged in their programming made grantees feel like their projects were successful. Grantee projects also provided opportunities for youth to grow their leadership skills, gain cultural and traditional knowledge, and learn important life-skills like communication, planning, and teamwork. Teamwork and collaboration were also important skills for youth leaders. Collaborations with community members and community organizations made it possible for grantees to build flexibility into their programming and enabled them to more easily navigate challenges. In the end, grantees in the Youth Empowerment Stream saw success in deepening connections to culture, relationship building, strengthening community connections, and increasing youth confidence.
