Land and Food Sovereignty Stream 2021 (LFS.21) Evaluation Report
Executive Summary
Creation’s Land and Food Sovereignty Stream 2021 (LFS.21) grant-funded projects centred on land-based learning, primarily focusing on cultural revitalization, connecti community food distribution. This support enabled Indigenous youth to increase resour their communities, fostering community engagement, youth empowerment, and the means to provide meaningful compensation to Elders, facilitators and Youth Leaders. These ini successfully built meaningful relationships among Indigenous youth, supported cul knowledge sharing, and strengthened intergenerational connections. Despite challenges such as resource limitations, pandemic impacts, and unexpected delays, grantees effectivel overcame difficulties through adaptability, clear communication, problem solving, proactive project planning. The projects enriched youth leaders with increased knowledge, traditional teachings, land-based learning, and community engagement skills. These initiatives achieved their intended outcomes, including intergenerational and cultural connections, improved traditional skills, and enhanced accessibility for Indigenous youth.
