PEOPLE MOVING TO CANADA ARE ALWAYS CONCERNED ABOUT THE COLD BUT IN SO MANY WAYS IT IS A BLESSING!
MY COUNTRY: CANADA Born and raised in Canada, I've always had a huge passion for the winter sports such as downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and skating.
As nearly everything was closed this past year with exception to outdoor activities, outdoor skating rinks have become one of my great resources for both fitness and socializing.
Aside from the incredibly popular and aesthetic ice rink at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto has a number of other skating trails and rinks for a change of scene. The Barbara Ann Scott Ice Trail, Ramsden Park Outdoor Rink, and Greenwood Outdoor Ice Rink are solid options to check out!
If you are nervous about your first winter in Canada, this is your sign to embrace our weather!

China
MY COUNTRY There is nothing better than learning about Chinese history and culture. China has the most extended history globally, which can be dated as early as 1250 BC. I am fortunate to have been born and raised in China to understand and appreciate its culture.
I was raised in Shanghai, the largest city in China, home to more than 20 million people. Similar to Toronto, Shanghai is a growing metropolitan.
Loong, or Chinese dragon, held a special place in my culture. It is a mysterious creature that rules the ocean the heaven. As an agricultural country, Loong governs the weather and brings rain and blessing to the farmers.
Panadas is known as the mascot of China. If you get a chance to visit China, don't forget to say hi to them.

NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION September 30, 2021, marks the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SUPPORT: ORANGE SHIRT DAY
Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day that honours the children who survived Residential Schools and remembers those who did not. This day relates to the experience of Phyllis Webstad, a Northern Secwpemc (Shuswap) from the Stswecem'c Xgat'tem First Nation, on her first day of school, where she arrived dressed in a new orange shirt, which was taken from her. It is now a symbol of the stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations.
