If you are one of the many who are intrigued by the purple martin species or have already committed to being a martin landlord, the 2026 Purple Martin Festival is a must attend for start-up or advanced education. In addition to teaching on the topic, the Saturday, June 13th Festival, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Stoney Creek Centre, Camrose, will also feature a presentation on cougars in Alberta, as well as a seminar on the ways animals communicate. This Festival is open to adults and children alike. Kids' activities, even educational pond dipping conducted by experts from Battle River Watershed Alliance and a purple martin site tour out of town by car convoy, will round out this interesting Saturday.
