After a historical deluge of rain in the month of June, there is good news and a bit of bad relating to Marler Drive west of 63 Street to 68 Street. The underground service work has resumed on Marler Drive, which is wonderful news for residents in the area, as well as those who rely on this important piece of City roadway. The bad news is that the project is currently about a month behind schedule, thanks to the recent wet weather. Currently, Nu Edge Construction, the general contractor on this important job, is working with City of Camrose engineers to make up some time on this project. The City and Nu Edge are looking to stage some of this year’s work to allow for the east portion of the site (between 63 Street to the west side of 65 Street) to be handed back to the City, so that the City’s surface contractors can start concrete and asphalt work. This would allow surface work to begin earlier on the east portion of the project, even while Nu Edge continues work on the remainder of the project to 68 Street.
