Need a break from the usual on a beautiful summer evening in Camrose? Or, if you’re hosting extended family or guests from out of the area and need to provide a unique community experience, consider the smiles per mile provided by the Mirror Lake Express Train. Jeppa Danielson created this amazing 93-foot long train in his retirement years. Now, in addition to its frequent highlight appearances at parades in Edmonton, Calgary and at many rural fairs elsewhere, the Mirror Lake Express runs twice weekly, in suitable summer weather, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., offering kids and adults of all ages a 13-minute ride along the south side of Mirror Lake. Hop on board at the Bill Fowler Centre each Tuesday or Thursday. Thanks to the extreme generosity of Cargill, this season the rides are offered free of charge.
