Camrose RCMP investigator Cst. E. S. Turgeon along with Victim Services Dog Lucy and Camrose Police Service Constable Kelly Bauer display items which you may consider donating at the Voluntary Charity Checkstop this Saturday.

On Saturday, December 1, between noon and 4 p.m., Camrose City Police and Camrose RCMP will be looking for you. While the visit won’t be mandatory, they are hoping you will stop by, regardless of the weather, on location on the east bound service road in front of Camrose Registry Ltd. Members of both organizations will be on site at the annual Voluntary Charity Checkstop. This year’s beneficiaries will be Camrose Victim Services Unit, which is noted for helping victims of crimes and tragedy in the Camrose area; The Open Door, which supports youth in times of desperation and need; and Camrose Women’s Shelter, which assists women affected by domestic violence. Donations of non-perishable food items, gift cards, cash, toys, toiletries, bedding, personal hygiene items and Christmas gifts suitable for infants through teens will be gratefully accepted by police on behalf of the beneficiary organizations.
