The campaign runs until Oct. 11. Staff, suppliers and customers can add a leaf for a loonie, a butterfly for $5, an acorn for $10, or a cardinal for $50. The staff have donated funds from barbecues and bake sales to add to the campaign as well. Owner Gary Wowk wants the entire community to help improve women’s health in body, mind and spirit.

The local shelter provides a safe place for women and children who need support or who leave an abusive situation. Sadly women are being abused every day and many children are witnessing these events. The shelter offers a safe place to stay and connect with services. Often food, clothing, information and crisis intervention assist women in time of need. The shelter also has child care and a school program. For more information on the Camrose Women’s Shelter Society services view the website www.brigantiaplace.org or contact 1-877-672-1010 for more information.
