In2024,approximately7,906peoplewerehomelessinSouthernNevada(January2024point-in-timecount) Whiletherehasbeenimprovementintheoverallnumberofhomelessintheregionoverthelastdecade-plus, underlyingdatasuggestaverypresentandpressingneedforcontinuedimprovementinthecareinfrastructure forthispopulation Nevadaranksinthetoptenstatesforthehighestrateofhomelessness,50 0percentgreater thanthenationalaverage AccordingtoastudycommissionedbytheCityofLasVegas,theaverageannualcost ofhomelessnessinClarkCountyis$31,690perhomelessperson Thisincludesnecessaryexpensesfor treatment(suchasmentalhealthcrisis,stabilizationandsubstanceabuse),ambulances,emergencyroomvisits, incarceration,emergencyandinclementweathershelter,mealsandpubliccleanupofproperty,streetsand tunnels Basedonthis,lastyearalone,itisestimatedthathomelessnessinLasVegascostthecommunity$515 0 million Thesecostsareonlyexpectedtocontinuerising,withestimatesreachingmorethan$1billionannuallyby 2039

RecoveryOrientedServices

Recovery-OrientedServicesisanevidencebasedinterventionfor individualswithmental illnessandhasbeenadaptedforthosewith substanceuse Asmorethan50%ofthe populationexperiencinghomelessnessis impactedbysubstanceuseand/ormentalhealth challenges,theintegrationofrecovery-oriented principlesoncampusiscritical Arecovery approachisidealandpromotesthefollowing principles:responsiveservices,strengths-based, culturalresponsivity,respect,supportsdifferent pathways,addressestrauma,offershopeand support,integratespeers,seesrecoveryas lifelong,andintegrateshealthfactors.

PersonCenteredPlanning

PersonCenteredPlanning(PCP)isaprocessin whichapersonwillbeaskedabouttheirlifeplans andgoalsandwillbehelpedtodevelopoutcomes theywanttoachieve ThePCPempowersthe individualtomaketheirowndecisionswhichaligns withtraumainformedcare Thefocusisbuildingon anindividual’sdreams,gifts,talentsand resources ThePCPprocessfocusesonRealLife QualityStandardswhichareuniversaldesiresthat allpeoplewantsuchas:feelingsafe,secureand lovedbyfamily,friends,havingmeaningful employment,financialsecurityandgoodhealth, justtonameafew.ResearchhasshownPCPisan effectivemodelforpersonalachievement.

The Client Journey
