PURSUING
Wellness
by Cherita Cunningham
Welcome to 2021! 2020 was a whirlwind of a year. Many of us experienced hardship and challenges. All of us were impacted by a global pandemic that infected some, resulted in the loss of a loved one, or for some impacted us by having to isolate and be in quarantine. That's a lot; not to mention the economic struggle or other personal challenges that had to be overcome. That's pretty overwhelming to just think about and list out. But the beautiful thing is that we all survived. Some days I just had to keep taking one step at a time, but here we all are in a new year! For me in some ways, a new year represents a clean slate, a fresh start. It's a good time to reflect on the past year and prepare to step into the new one. Now I know, I know... most of us have tried our fair share of new years resolutions. And most of us are over them, but hear me out.
WHAT'S INSIDE: Intro: 1-2 What's in Season: 3 Snack Swap: 4
I'm not talking about a new year's resolution; those are often lofty, unrealistic goals that I find myself abandoning quickly into the new year, which can be so discouraging. I'm talking about asking myself simple questions like... "What are some things/habits that I want to leave in 2020?" and "What are things I want to bring into 2021? (either things I started in 2020 or new things for the year)" One of the main things that I can see that I began in 2020, that I desire to continue in 2021 can be encompassed in two words "pursuing wellness".
