Welcome to
The Premier Texas Hill Country Summer Camp Experience for Kids Ages 6-17
CAMP OTX
At Camp OTX, we are all about family. In 1985, with the purchase of Incomparable Camp Ozark, Sam and Susan Torn initiated our family’s involvement in, and passion for, making a real difference in children’s lives through the summer camp experience. For the past four decades, the entire Torn family has been serving camp families with one goal, one mission in mind to provide a premier camp environment and experience for kids, through a commitment to excellence in all that we do, while seeking to establish and deepen relationships with Jesus Christ.
We are committed to always enhancing, always investing, and always adding new and additional ways to do just that. The establishment of Camp OTX is the natural extension of our family’s desire to enrich the lives of kids and families. For three generations, members of the Torn family have grown up at Camp Ozark, serving as campers, summer staff members, directors, and owners.
Everything we have learned in the past 40 years is being poured into the Camp OTX experience. We know that after everything is said and done, what matters is the individual experience of each and every child. That’s what matters to us, the Torn family.
We welcome you with all of our heart to Summer 2026 at Camp OTX. We want to come alongside you every step of the way to help make this experience truly amazing.
We, as a family, are involved in every decision, every facet of every day at Camp OTX. That was our commitment in 1985 when we embarked on this journey at Camp Ozark. That is our commitment today, tomorrow, and every day as we continue on this journey together. We hope you enjoy our Summer 2026 Guide and look forward to seeing you really soon at Camp OTX, where this Texas tradition continues.
- The Torn Family

CARE AND SAFETY
SAFETY IS THE CORNERSTONE OF WHAT WE DO AT CAMP OTX

We have excellent systems and procedures in place to create a safe environment and to cultivate a premier experience for every camper and staff member. Our safety standards are all designed to meet or exceed the requirements of the American Camping Association.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Since our beginning, we have developed our facility and operations infrastructure with a methodical focus on camper safety and experience. We prioritize campers’ safety through the use of multiple strategies, including, but not limited to, extensive training, strategic partnerships and emergency readiness, advanced emergency monitoring systems, and the use of communication and technology platforms.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Our Camp OTX Health & Wellness program is managed year-round by a team of highly experienced medical professionals. We operate a thoroughly equipped Health Center on site with a licensed physician and up to 5 registered nurses during each session. We recognize that before the Camp OTX experience can be anything else, it must be a secure environment for the child to learn and grow.
OUR STAFF
Camper safety begins with the premier Camp OTX Leadership Team. Working year-round, this team sets the standard for excellence in camp operations as they oversee program planning, staff selection and training, and strategic facilities development. With a commitment to hire the very best summer staff every year, we ensure that every staff member is properly screened and thoroughly trained so that your child will be surrounded by the finest, college-aged, Christian role models.

CAMPER PROTECTION
At Camp OTX, it is our goal to create a secure environment for your child. Through our extensive expertise and professional partnerships, Camp OTX has become a national leader among camps in developing, training on, and implementing child protection policies. We firmly believe that all campers deserve to have a premier camp experience. We have developed a system of Camper Monitoring designed to prevent, identify and resolve camper behavior issues. And, while rare, any camper behavior that negatively affects the experience of others is addressed in a decisive and timely fashion.
BECAUSE EVERY CHILD’S EXPERIENCE MATTERS.
At Camp OTX, we treat everyone like they are a part of our own family. The Camper Care Program at Camp OTX, including our Camp Moms and our Program Dads, is an integral part of camp and is designed to help make the OTX experience premier for every camper, every family, and every staff member.

OUR VALUES
Unmatched Texas Hill Country VALUES-BASED, CHRISTIAN LED, SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE
Since 1985, the Torn family has dedicated their lives to creating a premier camp environment and experience for kids. The Torns believe firmly the Lord has blessed them with amazing staff, driven by purpose and committed to the mission of serving kids. Each of the three summer camp environments created by the Torns have been meticulously planned to blend premier natural beauty and scenery with the most diverse and exciting camp programming in America. That programming is based on the six core values outlined on the right.

F.I.T. (FIRST IS THIRD)

First Is Third is the overriding spiritual philosophy of Camp OTX. We believe true success in life is only possible by placing God first, others second, and ourselves third. By placing ourselves third, by being F.I.T., we actually come in first in the game of life. Each session, one camper from each cabin is recognized for exemplifying our F.I.T. philosophy.
