Blazing New Trails at Camp For All!!

Imagine a place where limits vanish and children and adults with challenging illnesses, disabilities, or special needs can discover their potential. That’s Camp For All — and now, thanks to your support, it’s growing bigger than ever!

Unveiled at the Houston Gala on January 24, Camp For All Chappell Hill, our second barrier-free Camp in Texas, is set to open in summer 2027, offering even more campers new opportunities to explore, learn, and grow in a place designed just for them.

Set on 380 beautiful acres donated by the Charles Jago Elder Foundation, Camp For All Chappell Hill will match the high standards of Camp For All Burton. Every cabin, facility, trail, activity, and meal is thoughtfully designed for accessibility, adventure, and safety, ensuring that campers of all abilities can focus on what they can do, not what they can’t.

“The demand for barrier-free camps has grown substantially,” said Pat Prior Sorrells, President and CEO of Camp For All. “Together, Camp For All Burton and Camp For All Chappell Hill will welcome thousands more campers each year to places where they are celebrated for who they are.”

Making this dream a reality is Blazing New Trails, our most ambitious campaign ever. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, 96% of our $61.3 million goal has already been raised. Please contact Development Director Mary Beth Mosley at mmosley@campforall.org or 346-440-3036 to help blaze the final steps of the trail!

A Message from the Board Chair

It’s an honor to serve as Board Chair of Camp For All and follow the visionary leaders who have built the foundation for the extraordinary barrier-free experiences our campers enjoy today. I’m continually inspired by them, as well as the campers, families, donors, Partners, volunteers, and staff members who bring our mission to life every day.

As a longtime counselor at Camp For All, I have seen firsthand the joy and belonging it brings to campers facing unimaginable challenges. I think of camper Jaylon and his mother, who called Camp “a unique and special place” because it gave Jaylon a week of pure happiness during his illness.

That is my why: because the memories created at Camp become a source of hope and strength for families as they navigate every step of their journey.

As we look ahead, Camp For All Burton is ready for another year of life-changing moments and memories, continuing a legacy that has touched nearly 200,000 campers since 1998. At the same time, I’m excited to expand our impact through Camp For All Chappell Hill, our second barrier-free Camp.

Our founders – Paul Gerson, MD, Larry Neuhaus, and the late Bob Zeller, MD – envisioned a community where every camper could find joy, friendship, and the chance to thrive. I’m proud to carry that vision forward for every camper who enters our gates, today and for generations to come.

Sincerely,

At Camp For All, you’ll become part of a team that creates joy, confidence, and possibility for children and adults with challenges or special needs.

More Access, More Adventure!

We’ve been busy enhancing Camp For All Burton with exciting, barrier-free upgrades that will create even more ways for campers to explore with confidence. What’s new:

• Hydraulic zip lines at the Outdoor Challenge Course and Star Place.

• A new pool lift for safer, easier access.

• An upgraded Emergency Broadcast System.

• Remodeled cabin bathrooms with improved accessibility features. Thanks to our generous donors, these improvements are making Camp safer, more inclusive, and more magical than ever!

Camper Connection

For Sarah Gallagher and her 15-year-old daughter Maeve, Camp For All is more than just a summer getaway. It’s also a life-changing experience that has shaped their family’s journey with phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare genetic disorder in which the body cannot properly break down the amino acid phenylalanine.

Since Maeve was nine years old, she came to Camp For All with PHEver, a camp for children with PKU hosted by The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Each visit has brought new friendships, unforgettable memories, and a growing sense of confidence and independence.

“Being at Camp For All makes me feel more confident about having PKU. I’m surrounded by people who understand me, and I get to do amazing things without worrying about my diet,” she said.

Sarah added, “Camp For All started as a place where Maeve could feel safe and have fun, but it’s become so much more. Every year, she comes home more confident, independent, and connected – not just to her PKU community, but to herself.”

Descend for a Difference

Courage meets commitment on Saturday, April 11 as Camp For All invites you to descend for a difference at our annual Over The Edge fundraiser. In a one-of-a-kind urban adventure, participants will rappel down Howard Hughes’ The Woodlands® Towers at The Waterway, turning one bold moment into support for thousands of campers.
