A Letter from the Board Chair Joseph F. Caputi, Esq. ’12 Dear Camden Catholic Community, We mark the end of this school year with great gratitude, pride, and excitement for Camden Catholic’s future. This year brought real progress, new leadership, and many reminders of why Camden Catholic remains such a special place. We are especially pleased to celebrate the first year of our new President, Jim Hozier, whose energy, vision, and commitment have strengthened our school and helped lead visible progress across campus. His leadership comes at an exciting time for Camden Catholic, as we celebrate continued momentum across our community, including a new parking lot, updated facilities, and the ongoing strengthening of the foundation that supports our students and faculty every day. This year’s graduating class has given us much to be proud of. The Class of 2026 earned more than $33 million in scholarship funds, achieved two perfect Math SAT scores, and will continue their journeys at outstanding institutions including the Naval Academy, Duke, and Penn, the skilled trades, careers, and the armed forces. Their success reflects not only their own hard work and talent, but also the support and guidance of the teachers, families, mentors, and community that helped shape them. As always, Camden Catholic’s spirit was on full display in the arts, academics, and athletics. Our spring musical, The Addams Family, was nominated for Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards, and Camden Catholic faculty won the Presidential AI Challenge which was presented at the White House. In athletics, field hockey captured a sixth consecutive South Jersey sectional title, Wrestling earned their 20th state title, girls lacrosse took down multiple higher ranked teams, and girls and boys basketball teams continued a tradition of excellence, just to name a few highlights. Together, these achievements reflect the talent, innovation, and excellence found throughout our school community. This year also brought moments of sorrow. We mourned the loss of beloved teacher Mr. Wayne Nystrom, whose impact on generations of students will never be forgotten, and Jay O’Donnell ‘76, a longtime Board member, Hall of Fame inductee, and cherished friend and mentor to many, including myself. Their lives and legacies will always be part of Camden Catholic. The Board of Trustees also experienced an important year of transition. We are proud to welcome Mia Nixon ‘19, Shaheen Mojibian ‘02, and Rachel Holland ‘96 to the Board, three accomplished Camden Catholic alumni whose experience will help guide the school in the years ahead. We also thank James Madden ‘57 for sixteen years of dedicated service, including as Board Secretary and welcome Tim Higgins ‘07 as the new Secretary. Jim’s influence on Camden Catholic will continue to be present for years to come and the Board is forever indebted to his years of commitment. As the school year ended, I was reminded that there is no better reflection of Camden Catholic’s impact than graduation day. When our graduates take their final steps as students, we are reminded that Camden Catholic helps form who they are through the teachers who challenge them, the faculty who support them, the classmates who become lifelong friends, and the alumni community that remains with them. In that moment, we see both the value of a Camden Catholic education and the bright future it helps make possible. Thank you for your continued prayers, generosity, and love for Camden Catholic. Together, we will continue to build on this strong foundation and ensure that Camden Catholic remains a place rooted in honor, faith, and loyalty for generations to come. God Bless and Go Irish! From the Office of the President James Hozier Dear Camden Catholic Community, As I conclude my first year as President of Camden Catholic High School, I find myself filled with gratitude and appreciation as I reflect on what has been a remarkable year for our school community. Serving in this role has been both a privilege and a blessing, and I have been inspired daily by the people who make Camden Catholic such a special place. From my very first days on campus, I witnessed the strength of our mission and the deep commitment of our students, faculty, staff, families, alumni, and supporters. This year has proven to me that Camden Catholic is more than a school, it is a faith-filled community rooted in tradition, dedicated to excellence, and committed to forming young people into compassionate leaders of character. Throughout the school year, I had the opportunity to experience firsthand the many moments that define the Camden Catholic experience. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic fields, on the stage, through campus ministry, or in service to others, our students demonstrated talent, resilience, and a commitment to living out our values. This year brought opportunities to celebrate important milestones, achievements, and program support. A few of those can be found below: • This senior class brought in over $33 million in scholarships and are attending a variety of prestigious universities and institutions. • The purchase and usage of a new Anatomage Table for our science classes • The paving, striping, and numbering of the side parking lot • The Arts at CCHS was nominated for a prestigious Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award after entertaining audiences to a packed Grandi Auditorium with The Addams Family. • Three faculty members won the very first Presidential AI Challenge for using a creative approach to teaching using AI technologies. These teachers were invited to The White House to accept their award! None of these successes would be possible without the extraordinary support of our community. The generosity of our alumni and supporters continues to strengthen Camden Catholic and create opportunities for our students that would otherwise not be possible. Through your contributions of time, talent, prayer, and resources, you have helped ensure that our students receive an education that challenges them academically, nurtures them spiritually, and prepares them for the future. One of the greatest privileges of my first year was experiencing many cherished Camden Catholic traditions for the very first time. I had the honor of attending my first Baccalaureate Mass & Graduation and I felt especially grateful. These ceremonies serve as beautiful reminders of why we do this work, and what stood out to me most was not simply the celebration itself, but everything that happened behind the scenes to make these moments more impactful. Watching our graduates surrounded by their families and supported by an entire school community was both moving and inspiring. My first year as President has reinforced for me that the strength of CCHS has never been found solely in programs, traditions, or buildings. It is found in its people. It is found in the faculty and staff that consistently choose dedication, compassion, and excellence in service of our mission. It is found in the alumni and supporters that continue to give their time, talent, and resources to help move and shape the mission of this institution. Thank you for welcoming me, supporting me, and teaching me throughout this first year. Thank you for your continued belief in our mission and for your unwavering support of Camden Catholic. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and excited for what lies ahead as we continue building, growing, and developing tomorrow’s leaders today. May God continue to bless you and your families. HALL OF FAME 2025 FAITH, FAMILY & IRISH PRIDE

The 2025 Hall of Fame was celebrated with hundreds of alumni, and family and friends of the honorees in attendance. This year’s inductees spanned over 70 years of graduates who were celebrated for accomplishments ranging from civic and philanthropic to the arts, athletics, and business. Each member of the Hall of Fame class of 2025 shared their appreciation for the foundation provided them by their Camden Catholic experience. As Dominic Flamini ‘56 said in his reflection: “My elementary and high school years were guided by the Sisters of Mercy, who taught not just subjects, but developed in us the CCHS values that helped us on our journey to become useful members of society.”

Marcus Wilson ‘05, Green & White inductee for athletics shared: “Camden Catholic shaped me into the man I am today, instilling the motto of Honor, Faith and Loyalty from my freshman year– principles I still live by.” Each and every inductee shared a similar sentiment of appreciation for their high school experience, which helped to guide them to their many successes in life, business, faith and family.

In addition to the nine individual inductees, the first and only Cheerleading State Championship Team from 1985-86 returned home to CCHS, along with their coach, Mrs. Alice Clements. They were awarded their Hall of Fame medals by current members of the Irish cheerleading team, and were even surprised with a video of their 1986 state championship winning routine which was shown during the ceremony.

Inductees and guests enjoyed a celebratory reception in Tom Kenney Gymnasium following the ceremony, a true evening of Irish pride and smiles spanning seven decades.

The Camden Catholic High School Hall of Fame was founded to promote pride in Camden Catholic High School and to honor alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who have made outstanding accomplishments in their communities and their lives since they have been associated with the school. The Hall of Fame helps preserve and strengthen the school motto since 1887, “Honor, Faith and Loyalty.” In addition, these recognitions are for the purpose of honoring and perpetuating the individuals who have excelled and provide our students with examples of what to dream and aspire to be. To nominate an individual or a team, you should review the Categories and Criteria for Selection available at www.camdencatholic.org/halloffame. Nominations are due by January 1, 2027. If an individual is selected, both that person and their nominator will be notified by March 2027. If a nominee is not selected, they will be reconsidered for two more nominating cycles/years. The Hall of Fame inducts new members every two years.

Jim Crawford Celebrates 50 Years!

Favorite place to be (besides CCHS of course!): My favorite place to be is on the beach watching the ocean. My favorite thing to do is hang out with my family, especially when watching the Eagles, although the World Cup was fun this summer.

On the last day of the academic year, Jim Crawford was celebrated for his 50 years of teaching at Camden Catholic High School. Known by many as one of New Jersey’s most successful basketball coaches, Mr. Crawford is not only a coach on the court, but in the classroom as well as a member of the math faculty. He has remained devoted to the CCHS pillars of Honor, Faith and Loyalty for an unbelievable 50 years. A recent student applauded his teaching style when they shared: “Since day one of my class, he has pushed all his students to achieve their full potential. And, while to some it just seems like a burden, I believe it has been a great blessing. All year, Mr. Crawford has inspired me to push myself harder and achieve what I never could in grammar school. With Mr. Crawford's encouragement and guidance, my understanding of algebra has increased, my B grades have jumped to A grades.But, my confidence has also grown, not just in math class, but in my other classes, and even outside of school. I attribute all of that to Mr. Crawford's outstanding guidance.” Dozens of alumni shared similar experiences from 10, 20 and even 40 years ago. Michael Busciacco ‘04 says “Mr. Crawford is truly a man who stands tall and delivers. Math was my worst subject, but he drove the best out of me.” When Jim was honored at the final faculty luncheon of the year, true to his understated humor, he shared that he hopes the next 50 are just as much fun as the first 50. Congratulations, Mr. Crawford!

Aside from working beside wonderful colleagues and students, it's hard to explain. It's like knowing I'm right where I need to be. The faculty, staff, and students support and care for one another, making CCHS feel like a second home. 20 YEARS

Favorite place to be (besides CCHS of course!) My favorite place to be is our family camp outside Saranac Lake, NY. Swimming, living the pontoon boat life, sitting around the fire - all of it. What is the best part of working at CCHS? The best part of working at CCHS is the people. I rarely go a day without laughing or having a meaningful moment with someone here, students and staff alike. It's been remarkable to see positions filled throughout the years with people who just seem to fit and enhance everything about CCHS. 5 YEARS

The Class of 2026 represented four generations of alumni legacies through their parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Graduates Gabrielle Healey and Seamus Bieg presented the Class of 1926 graduation photo during the Commencement ceremony in recognition of the 100th anniversary of their great-grandparents’ Camden Catholic class: Elizabeth O’Brien (Gabrielle’s great grandmother) and Thomas Madden (Seamus’ great-grandfather). The photo also represented the hundreds of family legacies since 1887 that have helped to secure the continued success and growth of CCHS from decade to decade. VETERANS DAY HONORING ALL WHO SERVED

Camden Catholic was honored to recognize

Veterans Day 2025 with members of our alumni family as well as veteran family members of current students. The Camden Catholic choir performed a moving bi-lingual music compilation of patriotic songs, history faculty member Mr. Mike Kettelberger hosted a Q&A discussion with recent Hall of Fame inductee, Dr. Karl Holzinger ‘75, and President Emeritus Msgr. Martin blessed a wreath which was laid in honor of United States Military Veterans.

Dr. Holzinger shared stories of his time in the service, took questions from students, and imparted the many ways his CCHS experience informed his life path.

Alumni Investing in Tomorrow’s Leaders 11

Since the founding of Camden Catholic in 1887, the legacy of honor, faith and loyalty has permeated generations of graduates who are proud to give back to the very institution that helped to shape their own success. Through mentorships, scholarships, internships and friendships, Camden Catholic alumni of all ages connect with current (and future) students, continuing to invest in future generations of Catholic leaders. Despite decades separating these alumni and students, the stories shared here illustrate the ways in which the Camden Catholic mission to “educate diverse learners and develop tomorrow’s innovative leaders steeped in the Catholic tradition of mercy,” stays with our students from their first days of Link Crew orientation, all the way through their 50th reunion and beyond!

Peggy (McKee) Madison ‘64 and her classmates, are choosing to pay it forward in the most generous of ways in remembrance of Peggy’s husband, Pat Madison ‘64, who passed away in 2020 and was a proud “captain” of his class. Since his passing, the class of 1964 has contributed thousands of dollars, annually, towards a class scholarship in Pat’s name. Each November, Peggy attends the Camden Catholic Gratitude Breakfast to connect with the Patrick Madison Scholars, their smiles as they “catch up” on the latest happenings at school, while Peggy shares memories of she and Pat’s years in these very halls (as well as prior to the Cherry Hill relocation of CCHS, the fire in Camden, split sessions and the indomitable Irish spirit) are evidence of the gift of this scholarship. Not only is it financial support towards the rising cost of Catholic education, but it is a shared love of CCHS, common memories, and a friendship spanning generations that is the true gift for both Peggy and these scholarship students. “Hailing from a legacy CCHS family (father, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins), Pat grew up surrounded by the spirit of the Fighting Irish,” shares Peggy. “His involvement and dedication to our beloved alma mater continued after graduation in 1964 by his leadership in organizing every class reunion for 55 years. For his lifelong commitment, our family established a scholarship in 2021 to be awarded to a graduate of Pat’s elementary school, Christ the King, who would be entering Camden Catholic as a freshman. It is our way of

honoring his memory, of keeping alive his ‘spirit of volunteerism,’ and of supporting young scholars pursuing an excellent Catholic education.” Peggy is pictured with Gabrielle Zacharkow ‘27 and Liam Walsh ‘29 at the 2025 Gratitude Breakfast. Charles “Chuck” Grimley ‘72 honors his Camden Catholic experience through continued support of a wide range of CCHS endeavours. From the arts to capital improvements, scholarships and event sponsorships, Chuck not only donates, he is avidly interested in supporting our students’ goals, regularly asking the school “what can I do to help?” This year, in memory of his sister, Francis Lee (Grimley) Miller ‘64, who passed in 2025, Chuck established the Francis Lee

Earning the Francis Lee Miller '64 Music Scholarship for Camden Catholic means a lot to me because I can continue doing something I love, which is playing the piano

Miller ‘64 Performing Arts Scholarship, to be awarded to an incoming student in The Arts at CCHS. “Lee’s love affair with the arts and school plays started very early as she was a drummer with the Royaleers in 7th grade,” shared Chuck. “My sister Chris was also musically inclined, becoming a classical pianist. Together they provided endless enjoyable musical experiences in the Grimley household. Lee enjoyed attending the CCHS plays every year.” Anthony Chiusano ‘30, a talented musician from St. Joan of Arc, Marlton, will be the inaugural recipient of this scholarship. “Earning the Francis Lee Miller '64 Music Scholarship for Camden Catholic means a lot to me because I can continue doing something I love, which is playing the piano,” said Anthony, who is the pianist at St. Joan of Arc Parish, an incredible accomplishment for only a rising freshman.

“I am very grateful to have received this scholarship and for the opportunities it has opened up for me at Camden Catholic. Michael Leone ‘07 is an accomplished and respected director of facilities management at Monell Chemical Senses Center. Following his CCHS graduation, Michael earned his Bachelor’s of Science from Rowan University and has worked in various capacities at Monell over the past eight years. When he returned to Camden Catholic for Career Day 2025, Michael shared his passion for problem solving and management with students, as well as his varied professional experience that can help show students it’s ok to work in various careers as you travel down a professional path towards your passion. In speaking with students, Michael was able to share with them that his company hosts the Monell Science Apprenticeship Program (MSAP) each summer for high school students interested in a science career, and that they were welcomed to apply. Two CCHS students took his advice and were subsequently selected for the summer of 2026 apprenticeship! Myrlandria Hagan ‘29 and Karina CastroLaureano ‘29, who both have goals of working in a STEM career, worked throughout this past summer.

Consistently listed in the 25 Best PreCollege Summer Science Programs for High School Students (Best College Reviews), MSAP’s mission is to stimulate an interest in biomedical science and medicine careers particularly among groups typically underrepresented in science, including females, ethnic or racial minorities, and the economically disadvantaged. The program includes: eight weeks of paid full-time structured research activity with a Monell scientist, a public conference where apprentices present their research to scientific staff, family members, and friends, enrichment activities that include lectures on scientific topics; public speaking and written

communication; and ethical principles guiding human and animal research and opportunities to learn about different careers in medicine and science. “Monell truly taught me how to think like a researcher,” shared Myrlandria. “I was chosen to participate in hands-on research and worked as a paid apprentice under my mentors, Dr. Juyun Lim, our Principal Investigator (PI), and Dr. Alexa Pullicin, a Post-Doc in the ‘Lim Lab.’ Our research focused deeply on human taste perception. Specifically, my study aimed to determine how age and biological sex influence taste sensitivity. I was very involved in the study’s execution, beginning with the formulation of chemical taste stimuli across a wide range of concentrations. I managed human subjects research by recruiting a diverse group of participants based on age and sex with my mentors’ help. From there, I administered taste tests while enforcing palate-cleansing protocols. Following data collection, I used the lab’s software to organize the raw data, run statistical analyses, and create clean graphs that revealed fascinating trends in taste perception. Because my project was part of a larger initiative, the data I gathered will serve as a baseline for the next researcher to build upon in the lab's ongoing studies. In addition, the apprentice cohort observed and participated in expert presentations and workshops.” The apprenticeship culminated in the students presenting their research and

competing at the annual Capstone Symposium. Myrlandria’s group won runner-up to the “Monell Sense-Sational Science Award” and earned the opportunity to present at the Monell Insiders Meeting in November. Michael shared his thanks for the CCHS connection: “I am a proud CCHS alumnus, and it is rewarding to now have the opportunity to give back to a community that helped shape who I am today.

Through the MSAP apprenticeship program at Monell, we give students meaningful exposure to careers in the life sciences and hopefully play a role in inspiring and shaping the next generation of scientists and science support professionals. Longtime trustee Jim Madden ‘57 has helped to make innovation happen at CCHS through his partnership with Healthcare Quality Strategies Inc., a medical peer review organization with a goal of accelerating healthcare quality improvement through a collaborative and interactive process with the healthcare community. As a member of HQSI’s Board, Jim was able to share Camden Catholic’s vision to grow STEM at the school and proposed HQSI become a granting organization of CCHS. With HQSI’s goal to encourage the continued growth of careers in medicine, they generously awarded CCHS funds to purchase a revolutionary piece of equipment and software for the school science labs: the Anatomage Table. The 2025-26 academic year was the inaugural year for the Anatomage Table, a full-size, interactive touch screen virtual dissection and 3D anatomy visualization system. Used primarily by the anatomy classes during last year, with HQSI’s continued support, CCHS was able to add to the software package to now include chemistry, biology, earth and space sciences and physics for the 2026-27 year.

I was happy to have Sean come into the practice and spend some time in my office,” shared Rich. “I’m always happy to jump in and help any young person who wants more information about the field of physical therapy, especially somebody who is part of the Camden Catholic family. Sean is a

great kid. I can’t wait to see what he does in the future, both as a person and as a potential physical therapist.” To have everything come full circle, CCHS invited Rich Crowell to be a keynote speaker at the signature end-of-year sports banquet, The Greenies. “I sat next to Sean and was surprised when he was the student-athlete who presented me with the Alumni of the Year award,” shares Rich. This bridge of alumni support is just one illustration of how the common bond of Camden Catholic can meet our students along their path in many different ways: through our educators, our donors, our mentors and our friends. All with a common goal inspired by the CCHS mission, developing tomorrow’s innovative leaders, steeped in the Catholic tradition of mercy.

Anatomy teacher Matt Crawford ‘99 shared that “It allows students to get reallife experience with the human body’s structures and functions. It is a great tool for students who are looking to further their education in health science,” he said. One such example is recent graduate Sean McGettigan ‘26, who enrolled at the University of South Carolina as he hopes to earn a doctorate in physical therapy. “The table has taught me about the different bones in the body and their functions, how the body digests food, and how each of the body systems work together,” he said. “Now, I feel more prepared for college and more confident to excel while pursuing physical therapy.” Not only has Sean McGettigan’s career path been helped along by both Jim Madden ‘57 and Matt Crawford ‘99, but another alumnus is a hopeful part of the journey as well: Dr. Rich Crowell, DPT ‘04. Rich and Sean connected over a mutual love of golf, but quickly realized they shared a common career interest as well. “I first met Sean through Valleybrook Golf and during the last school year, he reached out to let me know that he was applying

Natalia Albertini ‘19 Gets the National Spotlight From her early days as a student, faculty and staff at Camden Catholic knew there was something special about Natalia Albertini. Her talented presence on the Grandi Auditorium stage was a gift to behold for her peers, faculty, staff and audiences. True to form of who our Camden Catholic students are, Natalia did not only participate in performing arts during her time at CCHS, but she also played on the field hockey and lacrosse teams and was a devoted student, earning acceptance into the Berklee College of Music in Boston, one of the highest ranked colleges for music in the United States. In 2025 Natalia auditioned and was selected to compete on The Voice, NBC's hit show in which America's best undiscovered talent goes head-to-head on

teams led by four of today's biggest musical icons. During Natalia’s season, she was selected by Snoop Dogg for his team, competing against members of mentor teams led by Michael Buble, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire. Additional celebrities joined in as guest mentors throughout the season, with Natalia gaining praise and collecting advice from Lizzo and Nick Jonas, just to name a few. Despite her busy schedule, Natalia spared an afternoon this past March to do a workshop with Camden Catholic performing arts students and answer their questions on how she turned her talent into a career. Here, she reminisces on high school and how her Irish experience helped pave a path to success.

What is your favorite Camden Catholic memory? My favorite Camden Catholic memory was during my senior year production of Guys and Dolls. During one of my performances, the electricity went out, and the entire auditorium was suddenly sitting in the dark. Somehow, I just kept singing! Looking back, I laugh at it now, but in the moment, I was honestly just confused about what was happening. I guess it's true what they say, the show must go on!

I think about those three words often and how they have shaped the way I approach my relationships, my career and the challenges life brings. I try to lead with honor, stay grounded in my faith and remain loyal to the people and values that matter most.

What advice do you have for budding performing artists at CCHS? My advice would be to stay present and take advantage of every performance opportunity that comes your way. At times, it can feel hectic trying to balance everything with your schedule, but it is so worth it. Immerse yourself in the performing arts, try new things, and take advantage of the opportunities that Camden Catholic provides. You never know which experience might shape you as an artist or create a memory you’ll carry with you forever. Was there a specific CCHS teacher whose encouragement helped to guide you on the path to study music in college and pursue that as a career? The teacher, whose encouragement had the biggest impact on my music journey was definitely Greg Gardner (CCHS class of 2011). That’s not to say that the other teachers didn’t play an important role in my experience at Camden Catholic, but I feel like I had a particularly strong connection with Mr. Gardner because I worked alongside him the most through Choir, musicals, and the various extracurricular opportunities within the music program. Mr. Gardner not only encouraged me as a performer, but he also helped me prepare for what was ahead. Looking back, I realize how much the skills and experiences I gained working with him, prepared me for the Berklee curriculum and gave me a better understanding of what the professional music scene would be like. He challenged me to grow as a musician, become more confident in my abilities, and take my craft seriously. His guidance played a huge role in giving me the foundation and confidence to pursue music in college ultimately as a career. Mr. Gardner believed in me, and because he believed in me, I learned to believe in myself. I also wanted to honor Denise Neri and the Neri Family. In 2008, Ms. Neri cast my sister and me in the musical “Oliver”. Believe it or not after that musical, I told my mom that I wanted to go to Camden Catholic, even though I was only eight years old! Ms. Neri and her beautiful family supported my music from such a young age, and I’ll always be grateful for the impact they had on me. Looking back, It’s amazing to think that one musical helped shape the path that eventually brought me to Camden Catholic. What lessons that you learned in high school do you draw from today? The lessons I learned at Camden Catholic have stayed with me long beyond my high school years and continue to guide me throughout my adult life. Camden Catholic gave me a foundation that I feel incredibly fortunate to have received, instilling values in me that I carry into everything I do. One of the biggest lessons I learned was to treat others the way I would want to be treated, and that is something I try to practice in my everyday life. “Honor, Faith and Loyalty” may be just three words to some people, but to me, they represent so much more. They are values that Camden Catholic taught us to

If you could go back in time to your high school days to perform one song on stage for CCHS students, what would that song be? Wow! That is such a loaded question! If I had the opportunity to go back and perform on the Camden Catholic stage again, I would probably want to perform every song because I miss the high school musicals so much! But if I had to choose just one, I would probably perform “Buddy Beware” from the musical Anything Goes as my character Erma! The song itself was just so goofy and fun, and it really challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and embrace a side of myself that I didn’t get to show as a performer. I enjoyed that role so much, and honestly it’s just one more song that I feel like I need to get out of my system one more time! There’s something so special about being on that stage, and I would love the opportunity to experience that feeling again! What celebrity were you most starstruck by during your experience on The Voice (and why)? The celebrity I was most starstruck by during my Voice experience was, let’s be honest, all of them! I never imagined that I would be face-toface with so many musical icons, let alone share the same room and breathe the same air as them. It was surreal to be surrounded by artists I’ve looked up to and admired for so many years. Being able to experience that firsthand is something I’ll never take for granted. Being coached by Snoop Dogg was an experience that is difficult to put into words. His talent, creativity, and unique perspective made every moment incredibly meaningful. I learned so much from his guidance, not only about my music and performance, but about confidence, authenticity, and trusting myself as an artist, it was an unforgettable opportunity, and I feel incredibly grateful to have been part of such a special experience. How has your faith played a part in your journey during high school and beyond? Faith will always be everything to me. Without God, I am nothing, and I truly believe that every opportunity and every chapter of my life has happened for a reason. My faith has been my foundation throughout high school and beyond, especially during the moments when I didn’t know what was next or when things didn’t go according to plan. Camden Catholic truly made me look at my faith differently and helped strengthen my relationship with God. As I transitioned into a life filled with many unanswered questions, I was surrounded by teachers, students and mentors who encouraged me to stay grounded in my faith and reminded me that I didn’t have to have all the answers. I believe that God has our stories written before we even begin to live them. From the day we are born to the day we were called to join Him in the Kingdom of Heaven, I believe there is a purpose behind every chapter. It can be frustrating at times to wait for God to make Himself known or to show us the direction He wants us to take, but I’ve learned that faith is about trusting the process, even when I don’t understand it I’ve learned to trust that God‘s timing is greater than my own and what is meant for me will find me when the time is right. Camden Catholic gave me a foundation in my faith that I continue to carry with me today. As Father Joe Capella once said, “God is good all the time, and all the time God is good”.

Comedy and Family at center stage The 2025-26 theatre season at Camden Catholic taught us that, for better or worse (but always for laughs), family is everything. The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde's 1895 comedic masterpiece, and The Addams Family, a musical about everyone's favorite delightfully creepy clan, may not appear to have much in common at first glance. Beneath their polished surfaces, however, both stories explore identity, connection, and the blessing (and sometimes the curse) of family. In Wilde-ly different ways, both productions celebrated the importance of living honestly as ourselves despite societal pretense. They also reminded us how important family can be when we’re in need of grounding, support, or simply just love. Perhaps most memorably, both productions relied on comedy to deliver their message. Throughout the year, our young actors learned that great comedy is both silly and precise, outlandish yet meticulously crafted. Judging by the audience's laughter night after night, they learned those lessons exceedingly well. This season also marked a milestone for the Arts at CCHS with our first recognition in the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards. The Addams Family received an Honorable Mention for Costume Design and earned a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Direction. The theatre program at Camden Catholic continued to thrive in its 104th year thanks to the extraordinary dedication of our students, parents, and staff. We hope you'll join us for our 105th season on the Farina-Gianfortune Stage as we present Clue November 13-15, 2026, and Pirates! The Penzance Musical March 5-14, 2027.

Artists beyond the curtain While the fall play and spring musical may be the most visible productions of the year, The Arts at CCHS is active well beyond those final curtain calls. Throughout the year, students explore the arts by creating, consuming, and competing in a wide variety of disciplines.

Students traveled to Philadelphia’s Academy of Music to see the national tour of Back to the Future: The Musical and attended Opera Philadelphia's final dress rehearsal of the world-premiere production of Sleeper's Awake. They also visited Rutgers University–Camden to experience Hand Me Down the Silver Trumpet, an original musical celebrating the legacy of African American recording artists whose “race records” were produced in Camden during the 1920s and 1930s.

Back on campus, student artists stayed busy with Band, Choir, Rock Band, Shakespeare Troupe, and Thespian Troupe. Audiences enjoyed An Evening of Theatre, four student cabaret nights featuring solos, duets, trios, and original works, the Shakespeare Festival, the second annual Battle of the Bands fundraiser, and the annual Christmas and Spring Concerts under the direction of Mike Kettelberger and Carleen Baron. Students also returned to the annual DeSales University Shakespeare Competition, a tradition for Camden Catholic since 2007, where many Irish performers have earned recognition and scholarships, including Charlotte Capie '24, who currently studies theatre at DeSales University on scholarship.

Our students also enjoyed tremendous success in competition. More than 30 performers represented Camden Catholic at the New Jersey High School Thespian Festival, under the direction of Nancy Werner, with several earning invitations to the National Thespian Festival. Senior Makenna Renbjor qualified for Nationals with her performance as Lady Macbeth, while freshmen Aaron Coars and Paul Esmond, along with sophomore Noah Barsocchi, advanced with their performance of Hamlet.

At the Camden County Teen Arts Festival, CCHS students once again earned top honors and advanced to the New Jersey State Teen Arts Festival. Aaron Coars, Paul Esmond, and Noah Barsocchi received the Gold Medal in the Small Theatre Group category for their Hamlet performance, while junior John Roberts and freshman Brendan Madden earned a Bronze Medal for their Guitar Duet.

The visual arts were equally active beyond the classroom. Emily Mikkelson ’28 was selected for the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Spirit of Place program for teens, culminating in her work being featured in the summer exhibition, A Future of Artists. Olivia McNamara ’27, Leanne Ho ’26, Samantha Donnelly ’27, and Grace Delfino ’27 also demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement on the AP Art and Design exam. Leanne was further recognized with acceptance to Moore College of Art and Design and a Visionary Honors Program Scholarship, which includes a semester of study abroad.

Whether on stage, in the classroom, or in competition, Camden Catholic's young artists continue to demonstrate creativity, dedication, and excellence throughout the entire school year. 19

One Class, Many Stages The Class of 2024 takes its passion for the performing arts beyond Camden Catholic. By Angela Leone For over 100 years, the Arts at CCHS has fostered a deep love and appreciation for the performing arts in its students. Generations of Camden Catholic graduates can speak at length about the lifelong lessons they learned while participating in the cast, crew, or band for one of the 104 musicals that have graced the Farina-Gianfortune stage since 1922. For many members of the Class of 2024, a class that witnessed and participated in the celebration of the musical theatre program’s 100th anniversary in 2022, Camden Catholic was only the beginning of their artistic journeys. Two years after graduation, several members of that class are pursuing the arts in college, studying everything from musical theatre and commercial voice to music education, percussion performance, and communications. They are at universities across the country, but talking with them again revealed just how much their paths still have in common. Angelo Carucci ’24

college has given each of them the opportunity to discover what pursuing the arts really demands. In a word? It’s BUSY. “Busy, busy, busy!” Angelo said of his typical week. In addition to taking more than 21 credits a semester, he is an RA, serves as technical director for a student-run theatre group on campus, works in the costume shop, costumes approximately three shows a year, and somehow fits rehearsals into his evenings. Gianna Giegerich ’24 offered a similar assessment: “Busy. There is never an empty day!” Her schedule includes voice lessons, ensemble, theory, aural skills, piano, performance seminars, and plenty of hours in practice rooms.

At DeSales University, a school she describes as “a lot like Camden Catholic,” Musical Theatre major Charlotte Capie ’24 sums up her own schedule simply: “Class, work study, rehearsal, and, somehow, homework and sleep. It’s perfect!” Charlotte Capie ’24

“After playing Jim Hardy in Holiday Inn my junior year, I realized that not only do I love performing, but I also might just have what it takes,” Noah recalled. “It’s fun and I’m good at it, so why not pursue it?”

When I knew them as CCHS students, they were actors, singers, musicians, technicians, student leaders, and, above all, hardworking and devoted members of our arts community. Today, those same qualities are carrying them through demanding collegiate programs and toward careers they once only imagined. For some, the realization that the arts could become more than a high school activity happened right here at Camden Catholic. For Angelo Carucci ’24, now studying Musical Theatre with minors in Business and Dance at Catholic University, the turning point came 20

For Gianna Giegerich ’24, who played Linda Mason opposite Noah’s Jim Hardy and is now studying Commercial Voice at Belmont University, the Holiday Inn experience provided a similar push. “My time as Linda Mason in Holiday Inn, during my junior year, gave me the confidence to try and ‘make it’ in this populated music industry,” she said. For others, the path began even earlier. Aurelia Harp ’24, a Music Education major studying classical voice at Syracuse University, grew up surrounded by music. Both of her parents were music majors, her grandmother was a music teacher, and she began singing and playing piano in first grade. By eighth or ninth grade, she knew music education was where she belonged. No matter when that realization happened,

For those pursuing music education, the work extends beyond the college classroom. Aurelia is learning not only to perform, but also to play and teach different instrument families while studying music theory and education. Matteo Johnson ’24, a dual Percussion Performance and Music Education major at the University of Maryland, balances lessons and ensemble rehearsals with fieldwork that puts him into schools to teach students and observe working educators. Their programs may look different, but across their responses there is a common thread. The CCHS Magazine

Charlotte hopes to become a professional actress and pursue certification in intimacy coordination. Noah plans to audition in New York and Los Angeles with the goal of supporting himself through his craft. Aurelia hopes to teach middle school general music and chorus while remaining involved in school theatre. Matteo dreams of

Angelo arrived at Catholic University to study performance but has developed a new appreciation for costume design and choreography. Gianna Lauria ’24 is combining a Communications major with a Theatre minor at Villanova University, finding a way to connect her love of the arts with interests in public relations, advertising, and storytelling. She has already taken another significant step in her theatrical journey by directing her first show at Villanova. Matteo Johnson ’24

“They are people who continue to encourage me and support me to this day,” he said. That foundation is now producing some remarkable results. This past May, Matteo won an audition to become a Section Percussionist with the Boise Philharmonic in Idaho and will begin performing with the orchestra this fall. It is already a significant step toward his ultimate goal of earning a percussion position with a major national orchestra. But perhaps what stands out most when talking with these seven graduates isn't simply what they have accomplished. It is how much their understanding of success, artistry, and themselves has grown since leaving Camden Catholic.Gianna Giegerich describes that growth through the lens of identity and faith.

“It was surreal to go from being directed by Ms. Leone during my time at CCHS to later reaching out to her for advice when I stepped into the role of director myself,” she said. “The process was challenging, but watching the production come together and seeing everyone bring the vision to life was one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had.” Their growth, however, didn't begin when they arrived on their college campuses. Again and again, these graduates pointed back to experiences and people at Camden Catholic that helped shape the artists and people they are becoming.

“

For Charlotte, it was playing the Chairman in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, a role she calls the hardest she has ever played. “It gave me a lot of confidence in myself and my abilities to perform, but also in my abilities to lead a room and an experience,” she said. “It helped me understand that theatre isn’t just for me, it’s also about what I can do for other people.”

Others have learned to become more comfortable with uncertainty and rejection, lessons that are particularly important in the performing arts. Aurelia would tell her high school self that “it is not the end of the world if you aren’t selected for something,” while Noah wishes he had been less afraid to audition for opportunities that intimidated him. “Even if you try and get a NO,” Noah said, “use that NO as a push on the back to work harder.” Charlotte's advice may capture their collective experience best: “Don’t be afraid of starting. The beginning is intimidating, but your journey follows, and that’s the best part.”

ATHLETICS:YEAR IN REVIEW Nine Irish Cheerleaders were selected as UCA All-Americans, only the top 12% of participants nationwide earn this distinction. Three of these cheerleaders, Jillian Arnot, Lucia Schlett, and Madalyn O’Neill, class of 2027, traveled to Florida to perform at the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on December 31. Golfer Sean McGettigan ‘26 earned All South Jersey, placing a CCHS athlete on this list for the first time in many years. Cross Country at Cherokee Challenge: Irish runners earned individual medals with Jimmy Rotaeche ‘29, Erin Callinan ‘28 and Charlie Fleming ‘28 bringing home the hardware.

WRESTLING WINS HISTORIC 20TH STATE TITLE In February, Irish Wrestling secured the Non-Public B State Title for the second straight year and for the 20th time in school history. It was the third state title for the Irish in the last four years. Following their team title, 11 individual wrestlers placed at districts and nine at regions. Four of the nine placed in the State Championship: Stephen Bagocious (6th-106 lbs), Sammy Spaulding (4th-132 lbs), Michael Craft (4th-150 lbs) and Jaden Simpson (4th-190 lbs).

Flag Football Coach Barb Hertline was named a Philadelphia Eagles Flag Football Coach of the Week! Barb, along with Assistant Coach Bill Hertline and Director of Athletics Jim McHugh were invited to attend an exclusive meet and greet with the Eagles first round draft pick, Makai Lemon at the Eagles training facility. Boys & Girls Soccer secured the 2025 Rudderow Cup

FIELD HOCKEY SECURES SIXTH CONSECUTIVE SJ TITLE Led by a dedicated group of seniors and junior standout Sophia Stazi ‘27, the Irish took down St. Joseph Academy to secure the program’s 11th sectional title and another trip to the state championship game. Stazi scored her 100th goal in the sectional championship, marking another milestone in her impressive career.

GIRLS LACROSSE EARNS RESPECT Irish Girls Lacrosse recorded a fantastic 16-5 record in South Jersey’s most difficult conference, taking down higher-seeded opponents throughout the season and into playoffs. Head Coach Katie Boyle was named South Jersey Coach of the Year by US Lacrosse, NJ.com and the Women’s Lacrosse Club of South Jersey. Alumnae Brooke Albright ‘16, Devin Rybacki ‘21, Natalie Berry ‘20 and Maeci Moore assisted Coach Boyle and were incredible mentors to our student-athletes. 22

Steve Bagocius ‘29 took 4th at the wrestling Freestyle Nationals in Fargo North Dakota. He also took 6th in the US Opens which is the world team trials for his age division. Despite grueling early morning trainings, Sammy Spaulding ‘26 wasted no time picking up a dominant win at the annual Wrestling Smoker. The Smoker is one of the longest standing traditions during Plebe Summer at the United States Naval Academy.

Lily McBride ‘23 earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as a member of the American University women’s soccer team. Lily played in 13 games, making eight starts as a junior.

Bella Miller ‘23 played in the final eight games of the season after returning from injury as a member of American University women’s soccer team. She scored the Eagles' first goal in a 2-1 win at Bucknell to close out the season.

ALUMNI ATHLETICS Kelly Killion ‘04 completed her first season as head coach of American University women’s basketball. Cody Walsh ‘20 just graduated from Drexel and earned an impressive 3-2 record for the Dragons at NCAA Wrestling Championships. Katie Walsh ‘20 helped to lead the Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team on an historic run in the NCAA playoffs as they made it to the Division I quarterfinal. She finished her career with a stellar senior season, earning WLCA Academic Honor Roll, starting all 22 games, finishing with 34 goals and 16 assists. Emily Nicholls ‘24 secured major accolades in her first season as goalie for the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights women’s field hockey team. Her honors included: Big Ten All-Freshman Team, NFHCA Collegiate Watch List, Academic All-Big Ten, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 2, 2025) and Big Ten Freshman of the Week (Sept. 15, 2025).

Noah Sanders ‘24 earned All-Academic Athlete recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Sanders, a biochemistry and molecular biology major, had a breakout sophomore campaign that was highlighted by him blitzing both the school and Centennial Conference Weight Throw record on his mark of 18.65 meters at the Centennial Indoor Championship meet. He topped his own record in four straight meets and claimed the Centennial Weight Throw title. He followed that with a silver medal in the Hammer Throw plus bronze in the discus during outdoor season while earning All-Metro Region honors in both seasons. Leah Clear ‘23 was among the University of Delaware’s top four finishers in the cross country Conference USA Championships in Huntsville, Ala., running an all-course PR of 21:08.33 over 6,000 meters. Braelen Crump ‘23 is a three sport athlete at Keane Univ., competing in cross country and track in addition to basketball. Braelen had a career-high 23 points against NJCU in January. He also earned CSC Academic All-District with a 3.71 GPA. Luke Kennevan ‘25 made his mark as a freshman at Lock Haven University this season, averaging 10+ points per game with a season high of 23 vs. East Stroudsburg, which included 5-three pointers. Luke is transferring to Ivy League’s Cornell University for the 26-27 year to compete at the Division I level.

Olivia Bent-Cole ‘23 earned her second straight NCAA Division I National Title with the Northwestern Wildcats women’s field hockey team. Aaryn Battle ‘23 was a key member of the Hampton University women’s basketball team. She earned Dean’s List High Honors for Fall 2025 semester, played in 23 games and started 18, averaged 7.9 points, 4.0 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. Andrew Crawford ‘23 helped lead Stockton University to a winning season as a junior this year. He was the team leader in both assists and steals, second in minutes played. Andrew scored 36 three-pointers and earned Athlete of the Week honors in January. His career high 25 points came against Rowan, 10 rebounds vs. TCNJ and 8 assists vs. Rowan. Andrew was named NJAC Academic All-District as well.

1996 Wrestling State Championship Reunion Alumni and wrestling coaches from the very first team state championship team reunited when the Irish hosted Cherry Hill West in January.

The 2006 Girls Basketball State Champions enjoyed a celebratory night in Tom Kenney Gymnasium for their 20th anniversary this February. Coaches and players from that historic team reunited and were cheered on by friends, family, and the current Irish Girls Basketball team.

CCHS FACULTY WINS PRESIDENTIAL AI CHALLENGE

In June, Dr. An Nguyen, Mrs. Bridget Blash and Mrs. Regina Knowlton were honored as winners of the Presidential AI Challenge this week in Washington D.C. at The White House! The incredible event brought together educators from across the country who had also earned this prestigious regional honor, to gather for the national announcement. The trio of educators worked together to create "AI-Augmented Molecular Design: An AI-Durable Module for AP Biology." This year's CCHS AP Bio class, put their module into action! Earlier this spring the project won the regional competition for its innovative approach to integrating artificial intelligence into the classroom.

This module moves the AP Biology curriculum into the realm of modern drug discovery. Students act as lead scientists in a research startup, using the same technology that recently earned the Nobel Prize in Chemistry— AlphaFold—to predict and design protein structures. By engaging in this professional-level research, CCHS students are developing advanced scientific skills that were previously inaccessible at the high school level. The module was designed to ensure that AI facilitates, rather than replaces, critical thinking. By intentionally working in areas where AI requires human oversight for accuracy, students must master biological pathways via literature survey before using technology to implement their hypotheses. Beyond the academic rigor, the project uses only free, browser-based tools to ensure that any student with a Chromebook can participate in scientific discovery.

GRANDPARENTS MASS & BREAKFAST The second annual CCHS Grandparents Day was another sell-out event this year. In partnership with the Sophomore Student Government, the CCHS Office of Advancement hosted the event. Grandparents and their Camden Catholic grandchildren attended the April all-school Mass together, followed by breakfast, games, photos and advice sharing in the Pisa Dining Hall.

ALUMNI & PARENT CAREER DAY Career Day 2025 was once again an incredible testament to the success of our alumni and supportive community members. Our panelists and featured career expo guests represented a myriad of careers and professional experience. The day kicked off with a Q&A in Grandi Auditorium which offered honest and helpful insight to the entire CCHS student body from 8 panelists. They shared their college and career paths, entertaining office stories, life lessons and incredible achievements. The panel was followed by the career expo in Tom Kenney Gymnasium with several more alumni adding to the fun. Every student attended and circulated throughout to meet scientists, lawyers, financial representatives, doctors, and entrepreneurs.

Erin matriculated at the University of Notre Dame where she was a biological sciences major. She studied abroad at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, was a teaching fellow in the philosophy department, an undergraduate teaching assistant and researcher, and volunteered with Matriculate, mentoring high achieving low-income high school students as they prepared for college. Erin spoke about her CCHS experience, and how that has provided a foundation for her success, not just academically, but spiritually as well, as she continues through medical school. Erin's experience is a true testament to the incredible CCHS faculty, our strong curriculum, and our faithcentered approach. iDesign: CCHS Students Lead Middle School Students to Imagine, Create & Innovate On April 29, 2026, Camden Catholic hosted the fifth annual iDesign Competition, this year themed as “The Spectator Challenge.” The event brought together 50 middle school students, comprising 11 competing teams from seven local schools. Annually the competition’s mission is to show these young students how to use design thinking to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. The winning team earns a $1,000 scholarship to Camden Catholic for each member. The Spectator Challenge asked participants to design an innovative

product that enhances the experience of a spectator, whether at an arts event, sports game or seminar. With mentoring from CCHS students, each team built, brainstormed and tested their designs which were presented in a “Shark Tank” style competition to a panel of judges. Ultimately, the team from St. John Paul II Regional School impressed the judges with their “rain or shine bleachers”. The design featured padded seats, heating and cooling coils for all weather, retractable roof and removable trays for activities.

Irish Robotics vs. The World Camden Catholic’s Innovation Lab is one of the busiest areas of the school, as the VEX Robotics Teams work diligently throughout the year on building and fine-tuning their robots for competition. In January, CCHS hosted 40 teams from across NJ and PA for an incredible VEX Robotics tournament. An alumnus robotics student even designed the trophies that were 3D printed and laser cut in the lab. Two CCHS teams officially earned their tickets to the NJ State Championships at the competition, including Team 41618H, who completed a "Triple Crowning"—taking home the highest honors in both judged awards and match performance. 4th in the state in the Robot Skills Challenge. Thanks to their placement at the state competition, CCHS Robotics Team 41618H traveled to St. Louis, Missouri for the VEX Robotics World Championship. In St. Louis, they finished their season ranked #21 in the world for the Individual Robot Programming and Driving event. CCHS is grateful to Allegheny Apparel and Whimsy Tech for providing team jerseys, as well as to Dr. Nguyen for constant support and guidance, and Deacon Haley for his support. Devin Hughes went to Rowan University and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree. In his time there he worked as a Laboratory Technician entrusted with servicing and repairing machines in the labs of the Mechanical Engineering department.

Isabella R. Diaz graduated Cum Laude from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology and Biochemistry. She will be attending Rowan University Medical School. Leah DiRenzo is a La Salle alumna with a BS in Business Administration and Marketing. She was part of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Morgan’s Message HEADStrong Representative and Ambassador and played D1 Field Hockey. She is currently doing an internship in project management at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Domenic DeStefano is a Summa Cum Laude Catholic Theology graduate from Seton Hall University. He graduated as a member of the Theta Alpha Kappa, a Theological Honor Society. He is currently in seminary for the Diocese of Camden, planning on one day being ordained as a priest. His time at CCHS taught him that education is rooted in human connection. He shares that “I moved away from the 'student-versus-textbook' mindset and embraced a collaborative 'student-with-teacher' approach. Rather than being treated as a number in the class roster, I was supported as a person and truly encouraged to grow.”

Margaret Ensell attended Neumann University graduating with a BA in Communication and Digital Media. During her time there she worked as Student Program Director for 98.5 WNUW, Directed and produced several Neumann Media Shows and was one of the Social Media Coordinators for the Neumann University Instagram. She has been doing radio since she started at Neumann, getting the opportunity to also host three radio shows.

Rocco Giegerich graduated from Xavier University with a BS in Biomedical Sciences and Spanish, while also participating in Magis Futures, Mass Committee, Alpha Sigma Nu and companion groups. He is currently a medical student at the Cincinnati College of Medicine working on attaining his MD. He has conducted research on Disorders of the Gut-Brain interaction underneath Dr. Neha Santucci through the Cincinnati Children’s Neurogastroentorology and Motility Disorders Clinic. He served the Cincinnati community as the Health Promotion Intern at Su Casa Hispanic Center from 2024-2026 while also working as an EMT at the time.

Elijah Iwanoff is a mechanical engineering student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University- Daytona Beach. He spent over six months working as a Project Manager with non-profit organizations in the UK, Mexico and the Philippines. As he works on getting his degree, he is excited to see how his non-profit experience intersects with engineering.

Caitlyn Janco graduated from St. Joseph’s with a Bachelor in Marketing. In her time there she worked as a Resident Assistant, Student Senate and was part of the Dean’s Leadership Program. She is continuing her work at SJU as a Secretary of Academic Affairs. While she was part of the Student Senate she was able to implement an initiative that mitigated the cost of textbooks for students and developed a Student Advisory Board across many SJU’s colleges.

Jaryanis Velez is a Rowan University graduate with a BA degree in Psychology. In her time there she belonged to the United Latinos Association where she went from public relations chair to president in just a year. Jaryanis is currently getting her Master’s in Psychology at Northeastern University.

Leah Waldron graduated from Rowan University with a BS in Business Administration and Management with a Minor in Marketing. She did her internship at the Addison Group as a Recruiting and Staffing intern in 2025. Now she works full time as an Associate Recruiter at the same company.

Melvin Rodriguez graduated Cum Laude from Montclair State University with a BS in Molecular Biology. Melvin was on the Dean’s List for all four years while also being a part of the American Heart Association HSI Scholar. He is beginning Cooper Medical School Rowan University as a member of their class of 2030. Melvin stated that his favorite lesson of attending CCHS was “kindness and hard work goes a long way, but your faith can take you even further.”

Evan Schwantes attained his BS in Business administration, double majoring in Data Analytics and Finance from Rider University. In his time there he had the privilege of serving as treasurer of the Theta Chi Fraternity, President of the Interfraternity Council (2024–2025), President of the Rider University Greek Council (2025–2026), Vice President of the Student Entertainment Council (2025–2026), and Orientation Leader (Summer 2024 & Summer 2025).

The Honorable Joseph Rodriguez ‘49, U.S. District Judge, retired in October. He was New Jersey’s first Hispanic federal judge, and is a member of the CCHS Hall of Fame.

Hugh Gallagher reports that rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated! Keep on keepin’ on, Hugh! Margaret Staats Heath and her husband, George, have been living in Mississippi since 1978. They have five children, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Margaret obtained her RN in 1985 and spent 23 years working as a hospital nurse. Today, she works per diem for a dental surgeon. Margaret and George are enjoying a wonderful life!

Tom Barbara recently completed his 15th year as Mayor of Laurel Springs, NJ. Additionally, Tom and his wife, Marie, recently celebrated milestone birthdays at Lake Como in Italy! Earl Horner is a CCHS and Villanova Hall of Famer who was enshrined into the South Jersey Track and Field Hall of Fame in March 2023.

Admiral William J. Fallon, US Navy, retired, was the keynote speaker at the University of Pennsylvania’s recent history symposium titled "Navigating the Past: Histories of the US Navy and Marine Corps, 1775-2025," in celebration of the United States Navy’s 250th Birthday this past October. Admiral Fallon’s address took place on board the Battleship New Jersey. Warren Faulk wanted to remind the class of ‘63 that there will be a 63-Year MiniReunion at the Blue Monkey Tavern on September 17, 2026. Seniors in Christian Ministry class carried on a cherished tradition, preparing Easter baskets for the Sisters of Saint Joseph Neighborhood Center and Guadalupe Family Services.

CCHS was honored to host Matt Marino '23 for his hometown visit, an opportunity for him to share his experience as a cadet at West Point with Camden Catholic students. Matt met with small groups and both boys and girls soccer teams. He is in his second year at the United States Military Academy, majoring in operations research. Matt provided an honest perspective on the rigors of attending a military academy, as well as the ways that his CCHS education and his faith have provided a solid foundation for his continued growth at West Point.

Dr. Patrick Abiuso, MD, FACP has authored another book! Living Healthy With Animals: A Commonsense Approach for Animal Lovers was released on Amazon Books in October 2025 and draws on Dr. Abiuso’s decades of medical experience in order to teach readers how to enjoy the countless benefits of animals while protecting themselves and their loved ones from zoonotic diseases. In addition, Dr. Abiuso has another book set to release in 2026 titled Effects of Alternative and Modern Medicines on Longevity & Healthy Aging. CCHS Magazine

Elaine Shaughnessy, recently retired, credits Camden Catholic for laying the groundwork for her lifelong, diversified learning. After graduating from CCHS in 1968, Elaine attended Rutgers University and Glassboro State (now Rowan). She worked in education for over 30 years, first as a Math Instructor and then as the Coordinator of Educational Technology and District Administrator for the Burlington County Institute of Technology School District. Elaine also holds diplomas in Aromatherapy and Feng Shui. Many congratulations to Elaine on an incredible career and earned retirement! Maryann Wixted-Weyer recently celebrated her 75th birthday and 52 ½ years of marriage! CCHS wishes continued blessings to Maryann and her family!

Noreen Nugent Baker is celebrating her retirement! Noreen had a long, influential career as a high school English Teacher and worked her way to Department Chair at her Catholic High School in Virginia Beach, VA. Paul Dean and his wife, Debbie, celebrate 40 years married this year! Paul and Debbie are the current owners of Cocoa Kennels Pet Resort & Salon in Brevard County, Florida, where they have lived since 1998. They are also grandparents to eight beautiful grandchildren. After 41 years of practicing law as a trial attorney and a Superior Court Judge, The Honorable Rochelle Gizinski has retired! Over her expansive career, Judge Gizinski secured over 355 jury verdicts for her clients in cases ranging from medical malpractice to murder. She spent the last 15 years on the bench in Ocean County, NJ Superior Court, presiding over cases ranging anywhere from civil disputes to high-profile criminal trials. Many congratulations on a successful career and well-deserved retirement!

Congratulations are in order for Lou and Monica Keeler who are both celebrating well deserved retirements this year. Lou just retired from a 30+ year career practicing Urology in southern New Jersey, and Monica is retiring from a career as a recovery room nurse. They have four grandchildren and a fifth on the way! Lou’s mother, Margaret Mary McDermott Keeler ‘53, is still thriving at 91 years young! Frank Plunkett is 65 and going strong! He retired from 25 years of law enforcement service back in 2009. He then started his second career in higher education teaching criminal justice courses. This July, Frank began his new role at Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA as an eLearning Academic Specialist for Criminal Justice. In this role he will be responsible for the maintenance, development, and redevelopment of all online Criminal Justice courses for the college. Frank is in the process of completing his PhD in Criminal Justice with a Specialty in Criminology. Way to go Frank!

Over the past two years, Michael J. Dennin earned two prestigious specialty certifications from the Supreme Court of New Jersey: Certified Workers' Compensation Law Attorney in 2025 and Certified Civil Trial Attorney in 2026, following a rigorous process involving extensive experience, peer and judicial recommendations, examinations, and ethics review. In 2026, he was also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. A dedicated supporter of Camden Catholic, he regularly contributes to alumni and school initiatives, including the Wrestling Team Golf Outing and the Brian Deutsch Memorial Golf Outing. After 15 years of service as a trustee of the Camden County Bar Association and Foundation, including serving as president of both organizations, he continues to support their charitable and professional initiatives. He remains committed to giving back to both the legal profession and the Camden Catholic community. Amazing work and congratulations, Michael!

Thanksgiving Meal Drive a RecordBreaking Success

Collectively, CCHS donated 125 family meals (for 750+ individuals) thanks to individual donations, $2,570 in monetary donations, Spirit Week Can Wars collections of 7,500 cans, and Murphy’s Market donation of 75 turkeys. Dezigns Construction Inc donated their trailer for delivery along with the time of their employees. All meals went to the SSJ Neighborhood Center. Can donations went to SSJ and the South Jersey Food Bank.

Stefanie Hak and her husband Andy Hak ‘03 are proud to welcome their son AJ to the CCHS Class of 2030! AJ finished 8th grade at Saint Margaret’s in Woodbury Heights and is excited to start his high school career at Camden Catholic. After 19 years as an educator, former faculty member and alumnus, Jeffrey Bruckner, has successfully pivoted his career, joining TD’s US Wealth team as their Associate Digital Marketing Manager. In his new career, Jeff is strategizing social media recruiting campaigns as well as producing internal and external content for the brand. He is also excited to encourage alums to connect via LinkedIn if they are interested in finding a job at TD!

Nearly 20 years ago, Al Riccelli founded Exponent Agency with a passion for entrepreneurship, creativity, and building meaningful connections. As Exponent approaches its 20th anniversary in 2027, he serves as Chief Operating Officer, leading the growth of an ecosystem of businesses focused on helping organizations strengthen their brands and grow sustainably. One of the company's newest initiatives, Exponent Rewards, helps local businesses build customer loyalty while encouraging consumers to support businesses in their own communities. He is most proud of the consistency it has taken to build and grow the business over nearly two decades. He credits the teachers, mentors, and experiences at Camden Catholic with helping shape his work ethic, creativity, and leadership. Wawa enthusiasts will be happy to applaud an exciting new chapter for Kerrie Dingler! Kerrie and her family recently relocated to a small town in Tennessee so she could help open the state’s second Wawa location! So excited for Kerrie, and for Tennessee!

The Mother McAuley Chapter of the National Honor Society celebrated the induction of their newest members at Camden Catholic this spring, hosting alumna Ashley CarusoCondon ‘04 as the guest speaker. Ashley shared with our honor society students how her Camden Catholic experience has helped to inform her life’s path and her successes, as a businessperson, working parent and champion of various community organizations and causes.

Congratulations to Stacey Gorin and her husband, Shane Gentile, who celebrated the Christening of their son, Jett, in December 2025 at Christ the King Church. Congratulations are in order for Michael Leone who was recently promoted to Senior Director of Facilities Management at Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia, PA. Monell is an independent, non-profit, scientific research institute dedicated to taste and smell research. Michael attended Career Day in the fall as a panelist and presenter and helped introduce a highly sought-after STEM internship at Monell to the current student body. Two CCHS students applied for and secured the Monell summer internship! We’re grateful to Michael for giving back to CCHS through his time and talent and offer our congratulations on the welldeserved promotion!

Congratulations to Casey Schell and her husband on the recent arrival of their first child, Penny Randall Quayle, born happy, healthy, and thriving! Casey, who now lives in Northern Ireland, looks forward to sharing her Camden Catholic experience with Penny and hopes she will one day visit campus or participate in a school exchange program.

Imani Prince and her husband, Charles, recently moved back stateside after living in London. Imani and Charles have three children; Charles, Aker, and Malaya. Imani now works at Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas running a Grant Program that helps prepare students for college or the workforce.

50 CCHS students attended the Rutgers-Camden tribute to early African American recording artists: Hand Me Down the Silver Trumpet. Ms. Baron and Ms. Cadet brought our BASA club members and additional Arts at CCHS students to experience this incredible show and exhibition as a part of Black History Month activities.

Nick Xerri currently lives in San Diego, CA and works as a microbiologist and research scientist with the Antimicrobial Resistance Team at IAVI. Nick served as lead author on the research article, Optimizing antibodies for antimicrobial resistance, which was recently published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry. Kelly Lineman Follet completed her Master’s Degree in Digital Marketing at Temple University’s Fox School of Business in February 2026. She also welcomed her first child with husband, Nick, in May! Congratulations, Kelly!

Mike Franz is entering his third year as an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts at the University of Mississippi, where he teaches theatre appreciation and a special topics course, Sports in Theatre. He recently began a two-year term as Associate Conference Planner for the Mid-America Theatre Conference and has a forthcoming article in Theatre Topics titled “From Stadium to Stage: Teaching Sports Plays in Theatre and General Education Courses,” scheduled for publication in November 2026. Mike lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with his wife, Haley, and their dog, Zara.

Kayleigh Whitmore Bianchini ‘15 and husband, Keith Bianchini, welcomed their first child, Georgia Rose Bianchini, on October 31, 2025. Georgia will be a member of the CCHS class of 2043! Filmed in 2024, the Haks have been keeping this news quiet for more than a year! They annually do an incredible presentation at their home, with a different theme each Christmas. The Hak family also invites their light spectators to bring a gift to donate to their Toys for Tots Drive. They have been able to donate gifts to hundreds of local children over the years.

Dominique DiGiacomo has been living and working in Japan for the past four years! She recently started a new position as Homeroom Teacher, English Teacher, and PE Immersion English Teacher. She also teaches judo, soccer and volleyball in English. Dominique recently accompanied her homeroom class on a two-week study abroad trip to Canada. Sounds like so much fun, Dom!

Alumni & Student News Congratulations to Thomas Paolini and Jocelynn (Dillon) for their engagement and wedding! Thomas is the third generation of his family to marry his CCHS high school sweetheart: Thomas’ parents Thomas Paolini Sr ‘89 and Donna (Fean) Paolini ‘89, grandparents Anthony Paolini Sr ‘57 and Barbara Paolini ‘59 and Daniel Fean ‘64 and Maria (Donna) Fean ‘65. Jocelynn is also a CCHS legacy as her mom is Nicole Rainey, class of ‘95. Their engagement photos were taken on campus at CCHS. Congratulations to both families!

This past winter, high school sweethearts and class of 2022 members Leanna Hobbs and Alexander McCafferty, got engaged! They met in Homeroom 135 at Camden Catholic during their Sophomore year of high school and have been inseparable ever since. They owe their whole relationship to Camden Catholic and to the luck of sitting next to each other on the first day of school. Leanna also graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Studies from DeSales University this past May. She is currently enrolled in DeSales University’s Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program, where she is looking forward to serving her community as a physician assistant in the near future! Congratulations to the happy, hardworking couple! Emily Mai is the credited illustrator and one of the credited overall student/staff creators on “My Friend Manny,” the very first book to be published by The Rutgers University Geology Museum (RUGM). “My Friend Manny” is an interdisciplinary project written and illustrated by Rutgers University undergraduate students and museum staff. The story follows the journey of “Manny,” the museum's iconic 11,000-year-old Mastodon fossil, from his 38

Kuyill Ponnappan ‘26 earned the prestigious honor of being named a National Merit Finalist this year. Declan Rotter ‘26 and Andrew George ‘26 were named Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Grace LaCroix accepted a congressional summer internship with Congressman Chris Smith’s office in Toms River, New Jersey, which is a big step on her journey towards pursuing a career in politics after her college graduation in 2028. Congratulations, Grace! Matteo Johnson auditioned against 20 other seasoned musicians for only one section percussionist position in the Boise Philharmonic in Boise, Idaho. He won the audition and got the job, and he will be starting with them in September! Kudos, Matteo!

Kory Williams recently signed as an Undrafted Free Agent with Major League Baseball team, the San Francisco Giants! Kory will play for the Giants as a pitcher. Very exciting news congratulations, Kory!

Gianna Giegerich began her studies in Commercial Voice with a Music Business emphasis at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Gianna has continued to grow as both a performer and artist. She has been featured on the songs "Simply in Love" and "Midnight Club," recorded at County Q, and shared the stage with Cody Fry during the 2024 Christmas at Belmont concert. She was also accepted into Voxology, Belmont's Gospel and R&B ensemble, where she performed a featured solo in the 2025 Fall Gospel Concert. In addition to serving as a Chapel Worship Leader at Belmont University, she continues to cantor for Catholic Masses, weddings, and funerals. Most recently, she joined Story House Collective as a 2026 summer marketing intern, supporting marketing efforts for Christian artists Matthew West, Anne Wilson, and Peter Burton.

Christmas, winter holidays and traditions from around the world were celebrated at CCHS’ annual Multicultural Christmas Fair in December, hosted by our St. Martin de Porres Society in Pisa Dining Hall. Students, staff and guests were treated to information tables, tasting samples, games and demonstrations to share how many different countries and cultures celebrate the holidays.

CCHS is proud to announce the results of the 2026 AP exams, proving our growth in offerings and results. Highlights: • 57 Total AP scholars • Exams administered in 17 subjects • CCHS scores were above the state and global scores in 7 subjects • 100% of the students in 6 subjects scored a 3 or higher • Physics had a 4.5 average (out of 5) Congratulations to our students, and many thanks to the dedicated faculty who have prepared them so well for this level of learning.

Written for children in grades K-3, the book combines scientific research on the Pleistocene era with archival data to educate young readers about fossilization, geology, and the museum's history. Jurius Clark made the Dean's List at Hofstra University. He is a member of the Division I Hofstra Lions Wrestling Team, and will be joined by recent CCHS graduate Jaden Simpson ‘26. Donaji Mendieta-Silva just graduated Princeton University with her Bachelor’s Degree in English! As a first-generation student, Donaji reports feeling so blessed to have had the privilege of this life changing experience. While at Princeton, Donaji had amazing opportunities including interning for the Office of the First Lady of New Jersey, Tammy Murphy, serving as Vice President of The Eating Club, and making friends from all over the world. Congratulations, Donaji!

Olivia Pawela has published her first novel, under the pen name Ridley Bekk: Myth of Champions. Olivia says she wrote much of the book during her senior year at CCHS. It is based in Greek mythology and ancient classics. Olivia was a standout CCHS student, excelling in her academics and artistic endeavours in advanced fine art courses as well as performing arts and piano. She composes her own music and is an accomplished pianist as well. You can find her novel on Amazon! Nilaa Ponnappan, a CCHS four-time 1st Team Olympic Conference runner, has completed her combat training and currently is in the process of space training at the United States Air Force Academy.

Environmental Club leaders, Lucy ‘27 and Tina ‘27 spent an afternoon with the wonderful Montessori kindergarteners at Sacred Heart, proving you’re never too young to start loving the planet. Our leaders took the little ones on a deep dive into the life cycle of plants, followed by some hands-on sensory play that had everyone excited about nature. To top it all off, the club donated a fresh batch of herbs to help the kindergarten classroom garden flourish!

Students serving at the Ronald McDonald House of SJ had a nice surprise when they realized the Philadelphia Eagles' Jihaad Campbell made plans to visit the same day! Jihaad was generous to spare a minute for our students while he made the most of his time visiting with families utilizing RMHSNJ services while their children are being treated at local pediatric hospitals. CBS3 stopped by to cover the visit for the news as well.

CCHS students joined in worship to pray for and with first responders at the annual Diocese of Camden Blue Mass at St. Agnes Church. Student Government and students who are children of first responders were invited to attend.

Engineering, Robotics, and STEM students took a trip to Alliance Sensors Group to get a behind-the-scene glimpse of how sensors are fabricated. Harold Schaevitz (father of Eva '27) hosted the students, sharing practical knowledge about how to prepare for the workplace as well as a hands-on lesson in soldering.

Marcus Talley-Hahn ‘26, was initiated as a third degree knight with Holy Family Council 7800 in Stratford. He was recognized with this honor at an exemplification ceremony at Mary Queen of All Saints Parish in Pennsauken, with CCHS Director of Catholic Identity Fr. Carlo Santa-Teresa and faculty member Deacon Haley, as well as many CCHS friends present.

The annual European adventure led by Ms. Oasin traveled to Greece over Easter break this year. Included in the incredible sites where the students visited were the Site of the Battle of Thermopylae, the Statue of King Leonidas I of Sparta, the Varlaam Monastery in Meteora, and of course the Athens Acropolis and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Dionysius the Areopagite in Athens, where Easter Mass was celebrated.

Donor support opens the doors of Camden Catholic to deserving students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to deepen their faith, discover their purpose, and prepare for their futures at CCHS. In the 25-26 school year, supporters helped us fund over

$1,400,000 in scholarships and over $407,000 in tuition assistance to 60% of the student population, with 362 students receiving some form of need- or merit-based aid. Each dollar represents more than financial aid. It represents opportunity, belonging, and the chance for a young person to build a future at Camden Catholic.

12TH ANNUAL IRISH GIVING DAY The Camden Catholic community once again showed the power of Irish Pride on our 12th Annual Irish Giving Day. This year’s theme, Power Our Purpose, celebrated the alumni, families, and friends whose generosity fuels the CCHS mission and provides opportunities for students to grow in mind, body, and spirit.

Together, the CCHS community raised more than $267,000, providing critical support for tuition assistance and scholarships, innovative academics, facility improvements, athletics, and the arts. Since the first Irish Giving Day in 2015, the tradition has generated millions of dollars in support for Camden Catholic. The Irish community continues to power our purpose and advance our mission, creating opportunities for today’s students and strengthening Camden Catholic for generations to come.

The celebration kicked off with our 2nd Shamrock Shuffle 5K at Cooper River Park before culminating in our 12th Irish Giving Day on March 17th, featuring an exciting class competition in the Grandi Auditorium.

Annual support of The Fund enables us to provide necessary improvements to our academic departments, art groups and athletic teams. It also provides funding to award scholarships and financial assistance to our students with demonstrated financial need. Approximately 30% of our students receive some form of financial assistance, which all comes from contributions to The Fund. REMEMBERING WALT SANDELL ‘56 1938-2026

Walt Sandell, CCHS class of 1956, was a class captain, gathering his friends together for monthly lunches to reconnect and reminisce on a regular basis. His devotion to CCHS extended to ensuring our alumni veterans were honored as he worked with school administration for several years to research and fundraise for the installation and dedication of the Alumni Veterans Monument located at Dulczak Family Field. Walt returned to CCHS often, for Veterans Day ceremonies, Hall of Fame events and reunions, and was blessed to have grandchildren attend his Alma Mater. CCHS sends our sincere condolences to the Sandell family and Walt’s 1956 classmates.

REMEMBERING JAY O’DONNELL ‘76 1958-2026

This year, CCHS lost a beloved member of our community, and arguably, one of our biggest supporters. Alumnus, former board member, Hall of Fame member, friend and mentor Jay O'Donnell '76 exemplified the Camden Catholic ideals of Honor, Faith and Loyalty in all that he did. Jay's leadership as a board member, his spirit as an alumnus and his pride as a Hall of Fame member, have created a legacy that will live on and perpetuate his memory for future generations. We send our condolences to his many friends, classmates, teammates, and his devoted family. At the conclusion of the 2026 fiscal year, longtime board member and executive committee member, Jim Madden, CCHS class of 1957, completed his term on the Board of Trustees. For over 10 years Mr. Madden devoted his time, talent and treasure to Camden Catholic. His professional guidance and humble generosity have helped to ensure the continued success of CCHS and the perpetuation of its mission. Most recently, he was instrumental in securing funding for the school’s anatomage table to the benefit of the entire science department. Thank you, Mr. Madden for your longtime service to CCHS, and for the many ways in which you have very personally illustrated our mission of mercy. Although he has stepped down from his official capacity as a board member, Mr. Madden and his wife Agnes ‘63 can still be seen around campus at athletic and arts events, cheering on their grandchildren who are current students, as well as the many programs which they continue to generously support.

REMEMBERING A LEGEND One of Camden Catholic High School's most respected faculty members, Mr. Wayne Nystrom is being remembered in a special way at CCHS since his passing in February. From 1969 to 2015 Mr. Nystrom taught in the math department with energy, discipline and extreme care for the success of his students. He was a constant faculty representative in the stands, cheering for our students outside of the classroom, and rooting for them in all of their endeavours. He was a mentor to younger colleagues, a leader to the entire faculty, and a true representative of Honor, Faith and Loyalty. To honor the memory of such a legend, CCHS coordinated with the family and friends of Mr. Nystrom to raise funds to offer a scholarship in his name, and to install a memorial plaque in what many of our alumni remember as “Pancho's Hallway.” On June 8, 2026, Mr. Nystrom's family, former colleagues, and inaugural scholarship recipient, Lucia Schlett ‘27, gathered to officially bless and dedicate the plaque and toast to his incredible legacy. In addition to the scholarship award, the funds raised helped to make an impact by providing tuition assistance to current and incoming students, in order to help alleviate some of the financial burden placed on our dedicated Camden Catholic families.
