Meeting and collection points: Students are asked to meet in the Middle School Atrium on Tuesday morning Upon return from camp, all students will be dismissed from the Middle School Atrium.

Location: Camp Manyung, 25/35 Sunnyside Rd, Mount Eliza VIC 3930

Transport: Panorama Coaches

Food: All food for the camp is provided by Camp Manyung. Students are asked not to bring any additional food.

All parents are asked to review and update their son’s Administrative and Medical Details, including non-medical dietary requirements, using Consent2Go, when completing the consent form.

Medications: If your son needs to take medication to camp please complete the Medication Authorisation Form and ensure that the form and medication are delivered to the Student Health Centre no later than Monday 1 June 2026. Medication must be in original packaging and in a named snap lock bag.

We request that parents do not send paracetamol or antihistamines on camp, for ‘just in case’. The School will provide Panadol, Claratyne and Zyrtec, and it is important that teaching staff are aware if any student requires these medications.

Asthma inhalers will be the responsibility of students unless otherwise agreed upon.

Students requiring an Epipen must bring an Epipen from home with them on camp and carry it with them at all times. This Epipen is in addition to the one supplied to the school for use during school activities

An up-to-date Asthma, Allergy or Anaphylaxis plan is required if your child is affected by any of these conditions.

Accommodation: Students will sleep in bunkhouses with up to six peers from Year 6. Teachers will stay in bunkhouses in close proximity to students.

Luggage: Students are limited to 1 small daypack and 1 medium sized duffle bag or suitcase Students must be able to carry all their luggage without assistance

A N D E Q U I P M E N T L I S T

The weather on Year 6 Camp can vary greatly - one day it will be hot and sunny, the next day might turn cold and wet. Students will need to be prepared for a wide range of conditions. Students should have the clothing and equipment listed below. Please note that all specialist equipment (such as tents, backpacks, sleeping mats, camp cooking gear) is provided. Students will, however, need a good raincoat and a sleeping bag.

Student who do not own a sleepingbag or suitable raincoat may choose to hire these items from the following outdoor stores:

The items above are in addition to the clothes worn to camp. All items should be clearly marked.

Older, comfortable clothes are preferable to stylish ones.

Do NOT bring jewellery or other valuables.

Do NOT bring any mobile phones, iPads or tablet devices, smart watches, headphones, earbuds or other music devices.

A C T I V I T I E S

Giant Swing: This is a challenge by choice activity where campers are encouraged to move outside their comfort zone Each participant is harnessed and hauled into the air overlooking Port Phillip Bay Once at their desiredheight, participants will pull the release cord to send themselves swinging.

Leadership Challenge: Various activities and challenges focusing on group dynamics, problem solving, communications, trust, planning and teamwork. Under instruction from a YMCA staff member, the group’s thoughts about leadership and the way they interact with each other are challenged, and positive reinforcement is utilised to encourage personal growth

Flying Fox: Is a 120-metre long aerial runway provides a thrilling ride through the teatrees whilst looking ahead to Port Phillip Bay.

Tree Rolling: Tree Rolling is a universal ropes course allows people of all ages and abilities to experience journeying through the treetops on a scooter, a skateboard, in the Cloud Rider Wheelchair or blindfolded with a partner through a series of adventure high ropes elements and a short flying fox zipline.

UHF Radios: In small teams, participants will work as a team to answer questions using UHF Radios to communicate between the leader and the group. Students will learn how to use the UHF radios and to understand the importance of teamwork and good communication.

Bike Education: The Bike Education program is an adaptation of the Vic Roads Bike Education Program, which teaches participants bike handling skills, through a series of activities including riding around the camp bush land on a mountain bike track. This program is suitable for all abilities with our range of 7 different adaptive cycles as well as our mountain bikes.

Archery: After a safety briefing and full instruction on the use of equipment participants can use their skills to hit stationary targets using top quality re-curve bows

Crate Climb: An initiative style activity involving the whole group’s participation to belay the climber as they construct and climb a tower using milk crates. The course provides individuals with a personal challenge, within a supportive group environment.

Tree Top Challenge: A series of 8 elements and zip lines that are linked and range in height from 7m to 8m off the ground With an independent belay system, participants work their way through the course at their own pace or in pairs.

All students will be involved in contributing to the community by helping out in the dining room and environmental duties during their stay.

Before the meal Duty group needs to arrive at the dining hall before mealtime (15 minutes before breakfast and lunch and 30 minutes before dinner) to set tables ready for meals

After the meal Duty groups must clean and wipe tables, stack chairs, vacuum carpets, mop floor and was and pack away the dishes

Camp Rules

Camp will be a challenging experience for all students. We want it to be fun and safe, as well as providing students with valuable lessons about co-operation, teamwork and their own strengths and resilience. There are a few key rules to ensuring that camp is safe and enjoyable for all:

Electronic equipment, smart devices, mobile phones, matches, pocket knives and aerosol cans are not permitted on camp

No student is to leave the camp site oractivity site without a leader’s permission

No student, by his actions, is to place any other studentor group of students in danger

Instructions from all CGS and Camp Manyung staff are to be followed at all times
