Positive mental health is a state of social and emotional wellbeing. It means recognising our abilities, engaging fully in learning, managing everyday stresses, and making a positive contribution to our community.
At times, we may not function at our best. This can happen when we feel stressed, anxious, tired, sad, or overwhelmed by challenges at school and home. Such feelings can affect our concentration, sleep, appetite, and interactions with others.
Having positive mental health means having the strategies and support to recognise these emotions and cope with them effectively.
