The purpose of The Vision: Realized is to make the case that The Vision, a book published to archive and honor the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED)’s history, has been realized and is alive and well. Focused on the college’s first program, architectural engineering (ARCE), this book begins with the sixtieth anniversary of ARCE and uses pictures and prose to highlight and document the past fifteen years of activities and progress in the ARCE Department. If a prospective student knows they want to be a structural engineer, there is no better undergraduate program in the nation than Cal Poly’s architectural engineering program. Today, we celebrate and then look forward to the next 75 years.
