In late April 2026, agents with the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit received multiple community complaints in reference to individuals living in the 1700 block of Thornton Court, Alexandria, LA, allegedly selling narcotics out of a residence. RADE Agents were very familiar with this address as they have served multiple search warrants at this residence in the past from prior investigations.

RADE has previously arrested suspects living at this residence, including Craig Brown who is serving time for drug trafficking. In the last few years, RADE has seized over 8 pounds of Fentanyl, over 4 pounds of Methamphetamines, Marijuana, multiple firearms, and a variety of drug paraphernalia from this address and traffic stops related to investigations involving this address.

Agents began their investigation into the anonymous community complaints and through surveillance techniques and investigative means, they identified Diante Brown as the main suspect. An arrest warrant for Diante Brown for Distribution of CDS II (Fentanyl) was obtained and a search warrant for

1735 Thornton Court was also secured.

On May 20th, 2026, RADE Agents, with the assistance of the Alexandria Police Department Special Response Team, executed the search warrant at 1735 Thornton Court where Diante Brown was taken into custody without incident on the active distribution warrant. Agents also conducted a search of the residence where 11 plastic bags, all containing suspected Fentanyl, were located along with multiple digital scales and other items of paraphernalia. The total weight of the sus-

pected fentanyl weighed approximately 1.5 pounds. Brown also possessed over $2,000 in assorted U.S. currency.

Diante Brown was placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center-1 for the active distribution warrant, Possession of CDS II (Fentanyl) with Intent to Distribute and possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Brown was issued Civil Asset Forfeiture paperwork for the seized cash.

Diante Brown remains in jail at the time of this release, being held on a $1,000,500.00 bond.

On January 29th, 2026, Agents with the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit concluded a lengthy drug trafficking investigation of a suspect which resulted in the seizure of a large amount of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cash.

Agents had been working the case and had active arrest warrants on Elijah Jermaine Jones, 34, of Alexandria as the target of the investigation. Warrants were obtained on Jones stemming from RADE’s long-term investigation and Agents observed Jones traveling on LA 28 East near Deville when a traffic stop was conducted. Jones was taken into custody without incident and arrested on the outstanding warrants.

The arrest warrants were for Possession of CDS II (Fentanyl) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS II (Methamphetamines) with Intent to Distribute, and two counts of Possession of CDS IV (generic Xanax and Soma) with Intent to Distribute.

RADE Agents executed multiple search warrants in Rapides Parish in relation to this investigation and located a large amount of illegal narcotics. Agents located approximately 14 pounds of Fentanyl and just under 4 ½ pounds of Methamphetamine during their searches.

return, Jones will be charged with another felony for possession with the intent to distribute as well.

During the search, Agents also located over $34,000 in assorted U.S. currency, which Agents believe to be illegal revenue earned through Jones’ alleged drug trafficking activities. Jones was issued Civil Asset Forfeiture paperwork in reference to the currency and the currency was seized.

Jones was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on the charges and at the time of this release, re -

mains in jail on a $1,000,000 bond.

AROUND the State

On Tuesday January 6, 2026, at approximately 18:00 hours, Allen Parish Sheriff Narcotic Agents were patrolling Russell Manuel Road just south of Oakdale Louisiana. A vehicle traveling towards them with its high-beam headlights activated, creating a traffic hazard and hard for agents to see the roadway.

Based on this observed violation, APSO agents initiated a traffic stop on a 2011 Buick Lucerne, 4-door white in color, occupied by two males. During the encounter, agents observed front seat passenger, identified as Brent Roberts, stuffing something between the seat and center console, in a manner consistent with attempting to conceal an object. Due to this movement and for officer safety, agents maintained visual contact with occupants and ask them to step out the vehicle.

During the encounter, agents observed suspected controlled substance in plain view inside the vehicle, specifically located in the area the passenger was reaching. Voluntary permission to search the vehicle was requested and granted by the driver, Drexler Williams.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, during which the suspected narcotics were seized as evidence, A plastic baggie containing an offwhite crystal-like substance suspected to be 84 grams of Methamphetamine was seized. Additional two more plastic baggies containing suspected Methamphetamine weighing 84 grams each, another plastic baggie containing 20 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, and a plastic digital scale was located during the search.

The passenger was found to be in possession of a small baggie of 16 grams suspected Methamphetamine in his pocket and 1.2 grams of suspected Marijuana. Approximately $1,400 was located and seized off the driver. Williams was arrested due to prior warrants and Roberts claimed all narcotics seized, both were arrested and transported to Allen Parish Sheriff Detention Center and charged with the following:

Operation Tax Break

On April 15, 2026, Gonzales Police Department in conjunction with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search warrant in the Geismar Community of Ascension Parish at 12050 Cypress Ridge Dr. relative to an ongoing drug investigation. During the course of the execution of the warrant agents located quantities of narcotics, paraphernalia and accessories consistent with drug manufacturing and distribution. This was a large-scale drug operation spanning across the Greater Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area.

During the course of the investigation several individuals were identified in the distribution and manufacture of narcotics.The investigation is on-going and additional arrests are pending.

The following items were recovered as a result of the investigation:

$257,750 U.S. Currency (Pending Seizure); approximately 1lb of crystal meth; approximately 2lb of MDMA and pressed MDMA tablets; a

quantity of Cocaine; approximately 3oz of marijuana; 40 dosage units of Tapentadol; a quantity of Hydrocodone; a quantity of Oxycodone; a loaded Glock 45 caliber pistol; a Glock 9mm caliber pistol; a loaded Taurus 9mm caliber pistol; a loaded Anderson Arms multi caliber rifle; an electronic pill press; items related to the manufacturing and distribution of pills; a wristwatch; a necklace; and a money counter

Traffic Stop Leads To Narcotics Search Warrant Of Residence

Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced that an arrest was made in connection with a traffic stop and search warrant, where an assortment of narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a firearm were recovered.

Deondre Holmes (31, B/M, of Thibodaux, LA) was charged with Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of a CDS (Felony), Possession of Firearm/ Carry Concealed Weapon by Convicted Felon (Felony), 2 –Counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin (Felony), Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana (Felony), Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA (Felony), Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine (Felony), Possession with Intent to Distribute Xanax (Felony), Sale Distribution or Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription or Order Prohibited (Misdemeanor) & Possession or Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor).

On Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, Thibodaux Police K-9 Officer’s conducted a traf-

fic stop on a 2006 Chevrolet Impala for a traffic violation. During the stop, a Police K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle, which led officers to search the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle occupants were detained and also patted down for officer safety. During the pat down, the vehicles passenger (Deondre Holmes) had a large bulge inside his crotch area, which was later learned to be a large bag of heroin.

This finding led to Narcotics Agents conducting a search warrant of Holmes’ residence,

where officers located 39.4 grams of marijuana, 286 grams of heroin (including the heroin found on Holmes’ person), 7.9 grams of Ecstasy (MDMA), 52.5 grams of Methamphetamine, 53 ¼ doses of Xanax (MDMA), 3-16oz bottles of Promethazine, 2 digital scales & a 9mm semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine. Holmes was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, where he remains on a $726,000 bond. Holmes is also being held on a NO BOND Louisiana Probation & Parole Hold.

History of the LNOA

In 1992 and 1993, the Metro Narcotics Unit of Ouachita Parish sponsored training seminars in Monroe for narcotics officers from around the state. During these meetings, the idea of forming a state wide organization for narcotics enforcement officers was frequently discussed.

Prior to the close of the 1993 meeting, a group of approximately 25 officers, from various areas of the state, met to further discuss this idea. It was then decided to appoint a temporary group to organize a later meeting.

Unfortunately, records were not kept concerning these first meetings, but among those who were chosen to make the initial plans for organization were: Larry Norris, Bryan Boney, Adrain Lamkin, Mark Holley, D. E. Stevens and Curley Dortez.

After several unsuccessful attempts to have an organization meeting (it seems every time a meeting was scheduled, a hur-

ricane would hit the coastal area), the group finally met in fall 1993 at the Alexandria Police Training Academy. Approximately 75 officers were in attendance.

At that time a simple set of by-laws were proposed and adopted by those present, dues were set and officers were elected: President Larry Norris, First Vice-President Adrian Lamkin, Second Vice-President Curley Dortez, Secretary Mark Holley and Treasurer Bryan Boney.

Shortly thereafter, Curley retired and was replaced by Percy Hebert as second vice-president. During this meeting the first conference was

scheduled for October 1994 in Alexandria.

In 1997, with the untiring help of Marty Maley and J. J. Williams of the District Attorney’s Association and Ford McWilliams of the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office, LNOA filed articles of incorporation and became a chartered organization within Louisiana, later seeking non-profit status by complying with IRS rules. The LNOA was granted 501(c)3 status, a major milestone for the organization.

LNOA has received a great deal of recognition for its sponsorship of a state wide essay contest conducted in conjunction with the Louisiana DARE Officers Association. This contest has become to be known as the LNOA/DARE Essay Contest. LNOA donates $2,000 annually to DARE to be used as scholarships awarded to deserving sixth grade students from all eight regions of the state.
