FOR A SOCIAL POLICY OF LOVE

Justice contains all Virtues.

Aristotle

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.

Albert Einstein

FOR A SOCIAL POLICY OF LOVE

From the beginning of the man’s presence on Earth, the instinct of survival determined his choices and despite the four industrial revolutions, and any achievements in the last 250 years, man did not approach, in his vast majority, the thinking and even the wise man [homo sapiens], as it has been recorded… What are the reasons??? The real reasons have not been clearly stated, until today, because rulers around the world did everything they could so that the individuals who made up a society remained a mob, a mass according to Epictetus instead of thinking citizens with free will and a critical mind…

In this context, Socrates rightly argued that the human mind does not need change but Liberation… And the immediate question: Liberation from whom and from what??? Liberation from the abuse – verbal, emotional, physical, sometimes sexual – that each generation has inherited from the previous one…

As a wise saying goes «The sins of the parents are the punishment of the children», parents do not educate but tyrannize them adding –beyond the parents-relatives– the teachers-professors as well. An abuse that has been legalized and is in full force, accusing children and adolescents, even from the mouth of experts, as aggressive, antisocial to name a few… «Things are the opposite from what they should be, and he who should be led to the gallows, is crowned king» Rumi . Today we know that beyond Instincts our Emotional Mind, and not the Logical one as they believed in the past, also develops the way of thinking, our Logic...

For a Social Policy of Love, an Assertive Behavior is necessary –not passive, not aggressive– that offers us the ability to manage our childhood-adolescent traumatic experiences, acquiring a meaningful relationship with oneself, the neighbor and the Society...

For the above-mentioned reasons, it is necessary to immediately integrate the lesson of Emotional Education into Education and to establish Parent-Teacher Schools in the MunicipalitiesCommunities, if we want to live as Humans, in a Society of Love and save the planet Earth that breathes its last breath… And yet, for the first time 3.500 years ago, Pharaoh Akhenaten of the 18th dynasty and his companion Nefertiti stopped the wars, established Peace, Equality and Monotheism in their vast kingdom and built-inhabited the City of Love El Amarna, the ruins of which are still preserved till today. This Great Heretic, who challenged the totalitarian priesthood of his time, disappeared but actually was murdered. However, his life partner and their daughters continued his Work, for as long as they were alive…

Some thousands of years later, in Greece, Eleftherios Venizelos was born, a Greek politician who, in the same spirit, believed that being Greek is not a matter of ancestry but of education and cultivation. He also held that Greece is too small a country to commit so great a dishonorable act. He supported peace and the creation of a Balkan Federation. Moreover, he had a profound faith in the rule of law and in the establishment of strong democratic institutions that are lacking in contemporary Greece.

Finally, I present the names and portraits of nine wise politicians of the 20th and 21st centuries, accompanied by their brief biographies...
