Become a Festival Friend

Friends of Blackwater Valley Opera Festival play a vital role in sustaining Ireland’s summer opera festival. Their generosity supports education and community initiatives, funds emerging Irish artists, and helps bring live opera to audiences across rural Ireland –many experiencing it for the first time. With contributions from €150 to €2,500, Friends of BVOF are recognised through priority booking, access to exclusive events, and personal acknowledgement in the festival programme.

Friends of BVOF contributions include a dedicated 40% commitment to championing emerging artistic talent, supporting community events, and integrating education in schools. You will champion young Irish artists as they take the next step on stage and behind the scenes. Through workshops, classroom visits, and free tickets, you will help young students experience live opera for the very first time in an engaging and accessible way. Since our education programme began, over 7,500 students have taken part, with more schools joining each year.
