How Legacy Came To Be.... Things didn’t turn out so well for Romeo and Juliet, but a Coweta couple are determined to prove that at least one theatre-inspired love story can have a happy ending. Bethany grew up in Indiana. She and her sister, were raised by a single mother who taught them to work hard and believe everything was possible. After a brief taste of college, Bethany followed her heart to New York and found work as a singer, dancer and choreographer, both off-Broadway and with several large cruise lines. Bethany and her now husband Mark met by chance in 2001 when they played opposite each other in a summer production in Kentucky. As talk turned to marriage they both felt New York wasn’t the place to raise a family and looked for other options and locations. Through their research they found the outskirts of Atlanta would be a good place to start a theatre. Mark landed a new job at Landmark Christian School and Bethany, a teacher, at Doris Russell school. Now Mark is Legacy’s artistic director. “My dream was never about doing something edgy,” says the Bethany. “I wanted glamour. I grew up watching those elaborate Hollywood musicals of the 30s and 40s—Shirley Temple, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The movie “Annie” came out when I was nine years old and that really cemented my love for musical theater.” “Back then, you dressed up to go to the theater. It was an event. My dream of building a theater wasn’t about doing black box type of theater that you see so much of today.” Bringing in professional actors and excellent shows, giving the audience the quality on a much smaller scale of the Fox or Alliance theatres. Bethany and Mark spent 2005 looking for partners, financing and the perfect site. They finally settled on a piece of land on Highway 74 in Tyrone. A week before opening night in 2006, the theatre had not been approved for occupancy. The show was sold out with family and friends flying in. Within 48 hours to spare, the theatre was approved and Bethany and Mark stood with anxiety as the curtain rose with a standing ovation. “We went round and round on what to name the theater and we chose Legacy,” says Bethany .
“This is our legacy. We are here to stay.”

As an avid traveler, Chef Bri Van Scotter draws upon her adventures to inspire every dish she makes. Her studies started at the Culinary Institute of America, where she studied culinary arts. Living and working in Napa Valley paved the way for her to work in some of America’s most prestigious kitchens. With a passion to learn more, Chef Bri headed back to school to study pastry and graduated from the Art Institute of Orange County. From her first job throwing pizza dough to leading kitchens throughout the United States, Chef Bri has worked as both an executive chef and pastry chef. With the need to teach, she returned to her alma mater and became a culinary chef instructor for The Art Institute of Orange County, where she shared her passion of fresh organic ingredients with her students. It’s that same passion for pure food that led her to hunt for the purest protein possible.
