Buttermilk Basin’s “FREE” Stitch or Treat Sew – A – Long Each week, for 5 weeks, we will be releasing 2 NEW 9 inch quilt blocks and finishing instructions just for you to sew into a darling quilt just in time for fall and Halloween! This is intended for personal use only and not designed for quilt shops, online groups or guilds etc., to print off & use. There are free patterns This is purely for our AMAZING supporters & followers!!! We will be offering a fabric kit to go along with the sew along on our website at www.buttermilkbasin.com. Block #2 of our “Stitch or Treat” Sew – A – Long! Cutting Instructions: • From black tonal cut (4) 2” X 3 ½” strips • From cream print cut (4) 2” X 3 ½” strips and (2) 3 ⅞” squares • From orange print #2 cut (2) 3 ⅞” squares • From taupe print #1 cut (1) 3 ½” square

Sewing Instructions: 1. Use ¼” seams when sewing block together. 2. To make the half square triangle (hst) units, using the 2 at a time method, layer the taupe print #1 – 3 ⅞” squares, rights sides together with the orange print #2 - 3 ⅞” squares. Draw a diagonal line on the back of each taupe print square. Stitch ¼” on both sides of the drawn line. Cut on the drawn line, press. Makes 4 hst units, each measures 3 ½” square. 3. To make (4) cream/black strip units, layer the black tonal strips, right sides together with the cream print strips. Stitch together along the 3 ½” long edge, unit measures 3 ½” square. 4. Refer to block diagram and lay the units out. 5. Stitch the block together into rows first, pressing each row opposite the next. Stitch the rows together to complete the block.
