PROGRAM BENEFITS The Butler MSRI program will prepare graduates to: • Apply specialized topics exclusive to risk and insurance to business risk situations, including property and casualty, employee benefits, and insurance-linked securities. • Use current and emerging tools to assess, analyze, and formulate appropriate approaches to minimize and mitigate the potential cost of risk. • Develop risk management and insurance solutions using advanced data analytics methods, communication strategies, and professional and ethical decision-making standards. • Demonstrate managerial capabilities by applying financial management, team management, and leadership skills.
IN-RESIDENCE EXPERIENCES The Butler MSRI program includes two required in-residence experiences that occur at the beginning and end of the program. Each August, a new MSRI cohort will start the program on the beautiful Butler campus. During the multi-day experience, students will see Butler’s state-of-the-art facilities, participate in sessions led by nationally recognized faculty, and network with top executives from Indianapolis insurance firms. Through a Capstone Experience at the end of the program, students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned to the Butler University captive, university coverages or another real-life business case. They will also network with some of the best insurance leaders in the world, located in Burlington, Vermont, which is home to over 600 captives.
