OUR MISSION

Butler Community College inspires and prepares students for lifetime success through inclusive, innovative, affordable, quality education while advancing community vitality.

Butler Community College is preparing to celebrate our 100th Anniversary in the fall of 2027. Plans for commemorating important hallmarks have already begun, and these exciting events will be here before we know it. As the 10th oldest community college in Kansas, it is an honor to serve the students of Butler, Greenwood, Chase, Marion and Morris counties, our Kansas Board of Regents-designated service area. Students from across the country and around the world also come to Butler, making us the second largest community college in the state. Community colleges have a distinct mission to help students reach their educational goals in the most affordable way, and we pride ourselves on the quality of education available to every student who comes through our doors. Butler students save an average of $8,000 in tuition compared to students at Kansas four-year public institutions, with college scholarships, program support through industry partnerships and state scholarship funds able to reduce costs even more. As a forward-thinking and innovative institution, we continue to create great value for Butler County students. One of the best examples of this is our 29% tuition discount for incounty residents. This focus on access and affordability helps keep local talent close to home while they gain industry-recognized credentials and degrees. We believe in the hope a community college provides to help change students’ lives, and I am grateful to the people of Butler County for the support you show our Butler Grizzlies. As we welcome students back for another school year, your engagement as donors, sports fans, fine arts patrons and educational partners is truly appreciated. It is a privilege to serve the communities of Butler County and its most important resource—its people. With teamwork and collaboration, Butler will be at the forefront for the people of Butler County for the next 100 years. Sincerely,

Dr. Kimberly Krull President, Butler Community College
