Burnaby plunged into a wintry chaos on Tuesday, along with the rest of the Lower Mainland, as 25 centimetres of snow fell upon the region over Monday night. As of Dec. 21, the City of Burnaby said municipal winter crews were continuing snowplowing efforts on priority routes and beginning to clear local streets. The city prioritizes main arterial streets such as Lougheed, Kingsway and Canada Way, emergency response routes, bus routes and collector streets, streets bordering seniors’ and long-term care facilities, local roads with limited access and local roads bordering elementary schools.
