NOVEMBER UPDATES
As we move into the holiday months, we are reminded of what we are thankful for. It can be our health, family, friends, and of course, our Veterans. We here at Joslyn and Tuttle are thankful for a wonderful and supportive community. You keep us going and give us the inspiration to want to do more. At Joslyn, we will have a paper cornucopia on a wall in our lobby. We would like for all of you to add something you are grateful for. All you need to do is ask for a post it at the front desk and write down something you are grateful for, no need to add your name. Get your dancing shoes ready! Optum will be sponsoring a 1950’s Sock Hop Dance on November 7. Come and break out your 50’s attire. There will be refreshments, a photo booth, giveaways, and medicare resource info. We hope to see you there. The holidays can be a challenging time for some. Dr. Haydeh Fakhrabadi will be at Joslyn discussing strategies to recognize and combat feeling of the “holiday blues”. Do you love indulging in delicious food during the holidays and regret it later? If that’s the case, Dr. Alvin Lewis will be at Joslyn to help you learn more about maintaining healthy eating habits during the holidays. He will even show you how to modify some recipes to make it healthier. We want to thank Optum for sponsoring this presentation. Since our center will be closed on the last Friday, the T-Shirt Painting class will be moved to Friday, November 18th. Bring a light colored shirt, apron, or canvas bag and give it a little touch of paint. Virginia can help you create something amazing. On behalf of the Joslyn and Tuttle staff, we would like to wish you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
