MAY UPDATES Happy May, everyone! We have so much to celebrate this month. We want to wish those in our lives who have been mothers and mentors to us a Happy Mother’s Day. We have a few special events to celebrate our wonderful mothers. The Valley Porcelain Artists will be having their Mother’s Day Tea event on May 6. Tuttle will have a special Mother’s Day Celebration on Thursday, May 11. May is also a month of remembrance. Memorial Day is a day to remember those who have lost their lives serving this country. We want to thank all of our seniors who have served. Both centers will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. Every May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the celebration of Older Americans Month (OAM). The theme for 2023 is “Aging Unbound.” This year’s theme offers an opportunity to explore a wide range of aging experiences and to promote the importance of enjoying independence and fulfillment by paving our own paths as we age. Indoor Chair Volleyball has been a hit so far! It’s a great way to exercise and have fun at the same time. We have had such a big turnout that we have ordered more nets. We now have multiple games going on at the same time. If you want to try something new, we encourage you to give this activity a shot. In this month’s issue, you will notice that the newsletter is a few pages longer. We have added more pages to include our monthly events calendar, a nutrition calendar, and more space for events and resources. We will always try our best to get you as much information as we can.
