JULY UPDATES
June was a blast! We started off with En Compas Flamenco Dance School performing for us here at Joslyn. We ended with a Luau party brought to you by Comfort Keepers. We would like to thank Comfort Keepers for celebrating their National Day of Joy with us. There was food, games, raffles, and even a performance from our amazing Hula group. Hopefully we can make this an annual event. Wouldn’t that be great? Did you know that in July we celebrate National Park and Recreation Month? Since 1985, people in the United States have celebrated Park and Recreation Month in July to promote building strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation. You can learn more about this year’s theme, “Where Community Grows”, on the next page. We have our Printmaking class returning to Joslyn Adult Center. This time Nancy will also show you how to make an accordion book. It is $20 for those that have a current BSAC. There are a limited number of spots so don’t miss out. You can sign up at the front desk. For those that participate in the Nutrition program, all participants must fill out a new Universal Intake Form beginning July 1, 2023. For more information, you can contact your pick-up site. Also, 2023 Senior Farmers’ Market coupons will be available soon, date is to be determined. Heading to the Starlight Bowl this summer? The BurbankBus Senior & Disabled Transportation office has informed us you will be able to schedule a ride for all Starlight Bowl summer season concerts.
