The Burbank Volunteer Team,

Valuations of Volunteer Hours

lif or

With sincere gratitude, we thank you, our many volunteers, for your continued service and your ongoing contribution to building a strong and vibrant community. The Burbank Volunteer Program has grown so much with countless volunteer projects as well as special events over the years. You are the ones who share your time, talents, skills and experience for those in need. You are the ones who make a difference in the City of Burbank. We could not do this without you.

With a multitude of active volunteer stations, we have something for everyone! Students may need to fulfill hours for a school requirement or they may explore volunteering as a fulfilling experience. Adults and retirees may choose to continue to use their skills and experience to help others. A positive by-product of volunteering is making new friends!

What’s Inside

As the year comes to a close, we here at BVP hope it’s been a good one, and as we enter our Fall season, hope the weather cools down too. Everyday we receive a high number of people wanting to volunteer, and it is truly a phenomenal sight to see. In our October newsletter last year, we had a bar graph depicting the top five states’ valuations of volunteer hours. We decided to keep this tradition, so we have included the state’s valuations of volunteer hours from 2021-2023. If you view the graph to the right, you will see that volunteerism in California continues to have one of the HIGHEST valuations in the USA. Great job Golden State volunteers! The Burbank Volunteer Program partnered with the Verdugo Aquatic Facility and the senior centers to bring about our annual Rock-a-Hula event for those 55 and older. This event features games, raffles, music, food and of course hula! This event couldn’t have been as big of a success if it wasn’t for our donors, our staff members and of course our volunteers. Thank you to all who aided us in making a end of summer bash for our senior population!
