YOU DID IT! We got through it! Congratulations to all the students who submitted their first round of applications on October 15 & November 1! And now the hard part… waiting for your results. We encourage seniors to regularly check their admission portals to track the status of their applications.
SAT Test Dates*
To date our seniors have submitted over 550 applications. Students who applied through Rolling Admission plans, Early Action and Priority rounds have received some decisions. 17 acceptances have been offered!

As we shared with you last month, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA®; opened on October 1st.Before completing the FAFSA, both students and one parents will need to register for Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID), which serves as both a login to the FAFSA and a legal signature. Please note, each college has its own financial aid application requirements. Some colleges will also ask for the CSS Profile; others will ask for institutional-specific forms – our seniors and their families need to keep track of required forms and deadlines. First of our Student-Athlete Signing Day Ceremonies On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 3:30 p.m., the College Counseling and Athletic Offices are partnering for our first Signing Day Event of the academic year. The in-person Signing Day ceremony, hosted in the Discovery Center Studio Theater, honors students signing a National Letter of Intent, which outlines their agreement as a student-athlete to attend a university and accept an athletic scholarship. For those unable to attend, we will be live-streaming the event and still hope you’re able to celebrate with us. Mr. Weisgold sent a form to all seniors; those planning to participate need to complete it ASAP! We will have two additional Signing Days that coincide with the official National Letter of Intent Signing Days. Finally, we will host a celebration including all students who intend to participate in Division I and Division III intercollegiate athletics despite not signing a National Letter of Intent. Watch for future announcements for dates, times, and locations.
Virtual College Fair For the 17th consecutive year, the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Kappa Epsilon Lambda Chapter have created a dynamic must-see virtual college fair. Working in partnership with our Kappa Epsilon Lambda Education Foundation (KELEF), Southern Maryland Technology and Recreation Complex (Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission), and the Eta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at Bowie State University, colleges from across the country have agreed to participate in this college fair, scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:45 pm. The event is open to the public, and registration is free; there will be a scholarship giveaways and other prizes!

Seniors have enjoyed meeting with the college reps and learning about their respective institutions. During these meetings students were armed with great questions about the admission process, standardized testing and campus life. Our representatives were impressed by our eager students and enjoyed learning more about our curriculum and school culture.
