As Chairman of Bugbrooke St Michaels Football Club, I would like to offer you a warm welcome to The Sett and I hope that you have an enjoyable visit.
Here at Bugbrooke St Michaels we are working hard to develop a club with a strong inclusive ethos, offering opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
We are extremely proud of our youth development programme, supporting players from seven all the way up to eighteen. Many of our young players go on to have success with one of our adult teams, with some players going on to even bigger and better things!
There is a great wealth of local support for the club, everyone that helps does so on a voluntary basis and through everyone’s hard work and dedication we have been able to achieve and maintain FA Accredited status.
Whilst some clubs choose to reinvest their revenue into players and wages, here at Bugbrooke we hold a different set of values. All of our profits go into upgrading our equipment and facilities, building a solid future-proof foundation that will be here for future generations to enjoy.
Whilst this can sometimes hold us back from gaining huge success on the pitch, we feel our excellent facilities, youth development programme and ethos on community sets us apart from other clubs.
Success and progression starts from the beginnings.
Thank you for your support today, we hope that you enjoy the game, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Kev
Kevin Gardner, Chairman
Bugbroooke St Michaels Football Club would like to place on record our thanks to our team of volunteers, our advertisers and sponsors.
Bugbrooke U18 Girls were formed last year and were successful in their first season competing in Div 1 of the Bedfordshire FA Girls Football League. They finished 3rd and were the only team to beat Real Bedford – in their final league game of the season – as well as reaching the League Cup Final – losing to Real Bedford!
Despite losing 15 players at the end of last season, mostly due to players becoming too old, the squad is still 18 strong and has started the season impressively They have won all four of their matches so far, and currently sit top of Div 1 of the newly formed Northants Women’s & Girls Football League.
Coaches James Geddes and Bob Lane work closely with Ladies team coaches (Stuart White and Alex DeBoer) to ensure that the team also provides a pathway into Women’s football A number of players have made the step up over the last 12 months and the aim is to have more players joining the Ladies squad during the current season. The team is supported by Physio Kayleigh Brocklehurst who also plays for the Ladies team
New sponsors Halo Security and GA Photography have generously agreed to provide new kit, training tops and hoodies so the girls will soon look as impressive off the pitch as they do on it!
New players are always welcome regardless of their experience or ability especially as the team will lose another 9 players at the end of this season. For now though, the aim is to keep improving, stay top of the league and hopefully go one step further in one of the 3 Cup Competitions that the team are involved in!

This season Steph was awarded with Clubman of the year for her contribution and hard work to the club. In her spare time Steph enjoys spending time with her family and is a dedicated Spurs supporter. She is also known for a bag for life after a heavy night out!
Hayley is our club youth secretary and welfare officer. Hayley has been in her role for just over a year and is a dedicated member of the committee here at Bugbrooke. Her passion for helping the club strive and supporting coaches within her roles are invaluable.
In her spare time Hayley enjoys watching her son play within our U16's squad and supporting her daughter with her horse riding. She enjoys going out with her friends and walking her dog.

Formed in 1929, Bugbrooke St Michaels Football Club took over from Bugbrooke United who folded in 1928 after being in existence since 1910.
The club, which is named after the local St Michael’s and All Angels Church, initially took its place in the Northants Central Village League and had immense success, winning the league title from 1931 to 1937.
The club closed for the Second World War before reforming in 1947 and were once again successful, winning the CVL title from 1947 to 1950, and were Northants Lower Junior Cup runners-up in 1949, a feat repeated in 1954.
We finally won the N.F.A Lower Junior Cup in 1956 and followed this in 1957 by winning the prestigious Daventry Charity Cup.
The club had its most successful years from 1966 to 1972 when we won the Northants Central Combination Premier title and again from 1976 to 1979 with 1977 also seeing us win the N.F.A Lower Junior Cup again.
The club continued to succeed in the Northants Combination until 1987 when we took the decision to join the United Counties League.
At this time, we decided to run two teams in the U C L and two teams in the C N C We also began our youth section and have continued this ever since Today we run 4 adult sides, including a recently formed Ladies team as well as 15 youth teams.
The club has continued to enjoy success across all age groups over those 30 years, the most notable being N.F.A Junior Cup winners in 1992, N.F.A Lower Junior Cup in 1993, and U C L Division One winners in 2001
The reputation for producing successful youth teams has increased over those years and 4 of our youth players (under 16) have been signed by professional league clubs
The achievements of the club on the field have always been supported by a hardworking committee whose chief officers are recorded on a roll in the clubhouse flyer They, along with the supporters of the club, have built up the excellent changing room sand clubhouse since 1980.
We hope that you enjoy the facilities that they have provided over those years, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Aylestone Park Senior Section was formed way back in 1980 and at that point it was a natural progression from youth team football where we were very successful at local level Our early years saw us develop from Sunday morning adult football in the Charnwood League to our first taste of Saturday football courtesy of the Leicester & District League where we were very successful, gaining many league honours and various County F.A Cup successes. The season 2012/2013 was a beneficial one when APFC beat Ashby Ivanhoe 3-1 to lift the Senior Cup and the following season we were invited into the East Midlands Counties League following an 11th hour resignation from one of its member clubs, needless to say, we duly accepted the offer Season 2018/19 saw another milestone in the history of the club The Leagues Committee that operates from the National Wembley Stadium decided to alter all step 5 and 6 Leagues in an effort to ease travelling time and also revert to 20 team constitutions. This re-organisation saw us relocated ‘sideways’ to the United Counties League. This also coincided with our highly successful youth team manager Matt Wormleighton stepping up to the plate to manage first team business. In July 2021 Bob Stretton, one of the founder members of the club, retired from the role of Chairman from the club Without Bob’s vision, determination and ingenuity the club would not even exist and would certainly not be in the positive position it is now. John Greaves, a former player for the club, was elected as the new Chairman and has been hugely instrumental in continuing to deliver further progress to the club. Indeed, since his tenure, a new 500-seater grandstand complete with accessible and standing areas has been installed, a new 6M x 3M digital scoreboard is in evidence, a new post and rail system now surrounds pitches 1 & 2, a new sports bar was opened in June and a complete refurbishment of the changing rooms was completed prior to season 2021/2022.
Season 2022/2023, saw a change in the management/coaching team with Matt Wormleighton stepping down after 4 years in the role as 1st team manager to undertake a new role at the club. Josh Dixon was appointed as first team manager and he was joined by Kade Lewis, as assistant manager, Liam Smith as coach and Martin Milnes as the goalkeeping coach Dean Wright was the club’s physio and Kev Matthews continued in his role as kitman With the introduction of several new players and a different style of football the club won the UCL Division 1 title by 6 points and were top of the league throughout the season after the opening round of matches. The end of October 2023 saw a change in the management structure and James Dodd became 1st team manager and Elliot Shilliam was appointed as assistant manager with Matt Coates, Michael Milnes, Kev Matthews and Dean Wright all supporting James in their respective roles Season 23/24 saw the club finish in 3rd place, narrowly losing out to Racing Club Warwick in the play-off final Season 24/25 saw further changes to the back-up staff with Kev Matthews, Matt Coates and Dean Wright all leaving the club, Martin Milnes took onboard the kit persons role, Jake Duffy joined the club on a player/coach role and Beth Roberts became the club’s physio.
The club reached the 24/25 play-offs but like the previous season they narrowly lost in the final, this time to Rugby Borough. The summer of 2025 brought changes at management level with James Dodd, Elliot Shilliam and Jake Duffy all leaving the
Lee Barratt became the 1st team manager and Kade Lewis returned to the club as assistant manager. Martin Milnes and Beth Roberts continued in their respective roles. In September Joe Conneely joined the club as 1st team manager alongside Lee Barratt and Alfie Marsden joined the club as 1st team coach, however both left the club in January 2026.
