offer views across forests, meadows and the surrounding mountains. Local larch wood and gabions characterise the design, allowing the building to blend naturally into its surroundings. Sustainability was an integral part of the architectural concept from the outset. Green roofs, the use of regional materials and the reuse of excavated material from the construction process help reduce resource consumption while strengthening the connection to the landscape. Among other measures, stones excavated during construction were reused for parts of the façade. Since March 2026, Chef de Cuisine Christian Scharrer, originally from the Black Forest in Germany, has headed Verbena by Christian Scharrer. At the heart of his approach is his Home Kitchen concept, which represents a personal and approachable interpretation of fine dining. Scharrer combines familiar flavours and classic compositions with precise craftsmanship. High-quality ingredients, clear flavour profiles and a personal atmosphere shape the culinary experience. The experience is complemented by the Waldhotel Spa, a tranquil retreat within the hotel, which has recently expanded its offering with the new Waldhotel Private Spa Suite.
