Dr. Ahmad Jalili, MD, Ph.D. joins the Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence as head of the Dermatology and Venereology Department at Switzerland's new holistic hotel dedicated to health and wellbeing. A specialist in the treatment of skin diseases, Dr. Jalili brings 16 years of experience as a practicing physician The five-star Waldhotel is part of the Bßrgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, Switzerland's newest luxury resort. Architect Matteo Thun designed the luxury hotel with the aim of integrating the surrounding Alpine landscape. In addition to its 160 rooms and suites – all with terraces – there is Verbena Restaurant serving healthy cuisine, two conference rooms, and large medical facilities with a spa. The Waldhotel has its own multi-disciplinary team of doctors, therapists and nursing specialists as well as a collaboration with two local hospitals, the Kantonspital Luzern and Kantonspital Nidwalden. Diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services will be complemented by a range of preventative programs. Medical check-ups, medical therapies, physiotherapy, dentistry, aesthetic and cosmetic procedures, weight management, rehabilitation, post-operative convalescence and wellness programs are featured. Most recently, Dr. Jalili served as the head and senior consultant at a private dermatology clinic in Zurich. Prior to that, he spent twelve years in the Department of Dermatology at the Medical University of Vienna, where he completed his training and worked as a senior consultant and group leader. Dr. Jalili received his medical degree from the English Division of the Medical University of Warsaw in 2001. He continued his studies there, earning a Ph.D. with distinction in immunology from the Postgraduate School of Molecular Medicine. Dr. Jalili's expertise covers a broad range of dermatological diseases and therapies
including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne, rosacea, skin cancer, allergies, pediatric dermatology as well as dermatological outpatient operations, laser therapies and sexually-transmitted diseases. The Medical Cosmetics Department has opened in the Waldhotel's Dermatology Department, allowing Dr. Jalili to supervise the cosmeticians. An Austrian citizen who has lived in Switzerland for the past two years, Dr. Jalili speaks Persian, English, German, Polish and Arabic – particularly useful for the guests who will be visiting the Waldhotel from a number of North American, European and Middle Eastern markets. He has received numerous prizes and writes frequently on dermatological issues for scientific magazines.
