Turning to Nature: The Growing Power of Renewable Energy by Bryan Hackleman

Energy is something we often take for granted. We flip a switch, and the lights come on. We charge our phones, cook meals, and travel long distances, all thanks to a steady supply of power. For much of modern history, this power has been derived from fossil fuels, including coal, oil, and gas. While these fuels supported growth and progress, they also created serious problems—pollution, climate change, and the risk of running out. This is where renewable energy comes in, offering a better path for the future. As noted by Bryan Hackleman, renewable energy is drawn from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, flowing water, and the heat beneath the earth’s surface. These sources are naturally replenished, which means they will not run dry like fossil fuels. Across the globe, solar panels, wind turbines, and hydroelectric plants are becoming familiar sights, showing how much progress is being made in moving toward cleaner energy. The benefits of renewables are clear. First, they produce little to no greenhouse gas emissions, making them essential in the fight against climate change. By switching to cleaner sources, we can reduce air pollution, protect health, and help preserve the environment for future generations. Second, renewables add diversity to the energy mix. Dependence on oil and gas imports is reduced, making countries more secure and less vulnerable to sudden price changes or supply shortages.
