Leaders were called to visit and assess the Waianae Police Station with its potential to more comprehensively serve and more consistently protect the constituents of the Wai'anae Coast.

However, if this station is to meet the challenge, it was clear that the large facility will require a sizable boost in police staff (additional recruits) to properly provision what is currently a seemingly vacant storage building as well as to also acquire much needed resources to adequately meet the needs of our underserved community. All of this would help to fulοΏ½ill HPD's goal of creating a new District 9 unit, and having a fully functional station, to help all the deserving people of the Waianae Coast.
