My Chief of Staff, Keahi, conducted another Westside Warriorâs Legislative Bootcamp with Waiâanae High School and College students. Pua Kaiaulu is the name of the program and involves the coordinated efforts of Kaâala Farms as well as âPlace-based Learning and Community Engagement in Schoolâ Program along with Place-based Afterschool Literacy Supportâ Program. They had an incredibly intensive crash course in government leadership of government and also learned the finer nuances of the legislative process as a force of change full of powerful resources. These motivated leaders were able to visit the Public Access Room and had an extensive opportunity to ask questions of their legislators. I wanted to thank Rep. Cedric Gates, Rep. Jeanne Kapela, and all the program organizers. We all look forward to seeing this program again on a regular bases to fully engage their legislature. ~Senator Maile CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GRADUATES OF MÄLAMA âÄINA FIELD SCHOOL 2022 WAIâANAE MOKU In celebrating the 10th anniversary of the program,, this 5-week summer course focused on content-driven, science lessons/projects, site visits, with service work, problem-based learning, as well as fun focusing on âmÄlama âÄina.â Rep.
