BUSINESS BASICS BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY 2 The Business Technology program provides students with the computer skills they need to be successful at work and in life. With beginner and advanced levels, students in this program gain an understanding of financial management as it relates to professional and personal decisions including creating and managing a budget, making and managing investments, purchasing property, and online banking. Employability skills and practical knowledge needed for independent financial living are the cornerstones of this program. The Administrative Assistant track explores high-level technology and managerial skills while mastering office procedures, telephone etiquette and customer service. Upon completion of this program, students will have the skills they need to take the Microsoft Office Specialist and Digital Literacy certifications. The Entrepreneur track features a virtual business management simulation where students recruit, hire, and supervise employees and compete for their market share with other virtual businesses in the classroom. Students will learn how to develop, promote, deliver and present marketing strategies for top social media platforms.

Animation and Digital Production
Redefine reality with the latest tools and skills. In this major, you can learn how to apply technology and the newest media to create stunning content. Whether you want to direct the next big sci-fi movie or create music videos, great editing requires great software! That’s why this program uses industry standard tools and software applications.
Graphic and Web Design
From blank screens to stunning dreams, this program will teach you how to create computer-generated graphics, and apply them to everything from traditional print pieces to innovative websites. You’ll gain skills in photography and learn everything you need to develop a brand’s identity. 6
DO I.T. RIGHT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY 1 2 Your journey in IT starts here! You’ll begin by learning to build and fix computers then apply those skills to solve technical problems for people and businesses. As you advance, you’ll construct and secure networks then investigate cybercrimes like a digital detective. You’ll also learn how to program, which will help you understand how all these parts fit together. BUILD SOMETHING NEW CARPENTRY 1 2 We have the tools if you have the vision. Students in the Carpentry program have an opportunity to get hands-on experience building projects both large and small. In the classroom or shop, you’ll focus on the fundamental skills including working with various types of lumber, reading prints and learning how to safely use various power tools. Students often get on-the-job work experience building homes with Stillwater Habitat for Humanity.

AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION 1 2 Interested in a cool career? This program specializes in the design and installation of home and business heating and cooling systems. Students will learn how to diagnose, service and repair a wide range of air handling and refrigeration equipment.
COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING 2 Design your future in Computer Aided Drafting. From manufacturing to construction, everything starts with a blueprint. That’s why students in this program work with state-of-the-art 3D modeling software to draw and implement both mechanical and architectural projects. Whether you want to create new products or design houses, students in this program get to make their ideas a reality. ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY 1 2 Experience the start to finish stages of wiring a building while you design, install and test commercial, residential and industrial electrical control systems. Master how to safely and efficiently install electrical fixtures according to blueprints and schematics. Gain hands-on industry experience with on-the-job training wiring houses with Stillwater Habitat for Humanity.

POWER UP INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY 1 As technology advances, the machinery that delivers the necessities of modern life has also improved. We can create an optimized machine process by combining industrial electricity, fluid power, mechanical drives and control logic. Skilled technicians install, maintain and service each piece. During this program, students will explore each part of industrial technology. Participants will learn through hands-on projects that mirror the real world. Once completed, students will be ready to join the energy manufacturing or production field.

UNDERGROUND UTILITY LOCATING

Find a fulfilling career with the Underground Utility Locating Technician program. Participants will practice with virtual reality utility locating and get hands-on with the latest technology in the industry. This program is only open to high school seniors and adults. Part-time employment is possible during the second semester of this program, starting at $20 per hour. At the completion of this 10-month program, students can apply for full-time employment with 401(K) and other benefits. Students must be at least 17 years old and have a valid driver’s license to obtain employment.

The Early Care Development/Teacher Prep program at Meridian is your gateway to a rewarding career in education. In this program, you’ll explore the stages of development and classroom methods, equipping you with the skills needed to support students of all ages. If you’re a problem solver, the Pre-Engineering program is where you need to be. This college prep program is comprised of rigorous academic courses in math and science that leverage technology to provide real-world tasks tied together using engineering disciplines. Using Project Lead The Way curriculum, students step into the role of an engineer, adopting a problem-solving mindset and making the leap from dreamers to doers. The program’s courses engage students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to help them become better collaborators and thinkers. This program is open to sophomores and juniors, and seniors. It is ideal for high school students interested in pursuing an engineering or mathematical sciences pathway in college as they explore chemical, civil, mechanical, aerospace, electrical and computer engineering. HELP OTHERS BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES - STEM ACADEMY 2

In this program, you’ll put your critical thinking skills to the test! Whether you’re investigating a crime scene, offering medical advice, monitoring muscle movement or evaluating treatment options, this program brings science to life through human medicine, physiology, genetics, microbiology and public health. Students in this program will work collaboratively to understand the most pressing health challenges of today and the future. This program is open to sophomores and juniors, and seniors. Biomedical Sciences uses the college preparatory Project Lead the Way curriculum. PLTW focuses on developing problem-solving skills by immersing students in real-world, preparatory-level academics and is designed to prepare students for post-secondary studies. GEAR UP AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY 1 2 Interested in learning about automobiles from the inside out? The Automotive Technology program highlights the skills needed to successfully service and repair a wide range of vehicles. As soon as you step into this area’s lab space, a fully functioning service center, you’ll quickly see how technology is key. Whether you focus on automotive maintenance and light repair or automotive service, you’ll use the same advanced diagnostic equipment as ASE-certified technicians. Put your career in drive! COLLISION REPAIR TECHNOLOGY 1 2 There’s more to the automotive industry than what makes a motor run. The Collision Repair Technology program focuses on ensuring exceptional exteriors. From learning how to provide proper repair estimates to gaining the skills to get the job done, students in this program become familiar with the ins and outs of the repair industry. The skills taught in this program can be applied to automobiles, boats, motorcycles and power sports equipment.

MEDICALLY MINDED HEALTH CAREERS 1

If you want a career in the medical profession, the Health Careers program is the place to start. This program provides a foundation for students interested in pursuing a future in health care. Students have several areas they can choose to focus on: learn the basics of patient care in the Pre-Nursing program, gain the skills to assist providers in a medical clinic in our Medical Assistant program, learn how to assist with obtaining diagnostic images in the PreRadiology Technology program, and explore how to record the heart’s electrical activity in our Phlebotomy/EKG program. The program combines classroom learning with real-world training, preparing students to continue toward certifications like Medical Assistant, Certified Phlebotomy Technician, EKG, Limited Licensed Radiology Technician, and Nurse Aide. Completing the Pre-Nursing program fulfills the prerequisites for Meridian’s Practical Nursing program. For the Radiologic Technology program, students can fulfill two prerequisites but will also need to hold an associate degree when they apply. Health Careers graduates may be eligible for special consideration for admission into these programs. High school students taking anatomy and physiology through Meridian can receive high school credit. 22
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 1
Find your prescription for success in the Pharmacy Technician program. You’ll develop an understanding of the names, appropriate uses and potential side effects of commonly prescribed medications. You’ll study in a simulated pharmacy where you will learn how to manage, dispense and compound prescription medicines. The Pharmacy Technician program also uses PioneerRx pharmacy simulation software. This platform allows students to learn in a real-world environment and provides them with hands-on experience with the most frequently used software found in independent pharmacies. Due to industry requirements, this program is limited to high school seniors and adults.
Students interested in a health-related field will be required to obtain and submit proof of vaccinations and a background check to fulfill the clinical portion of training.

CREATING FLAVOR CULINARY ARTS 1 2 Awaken your taste buds in the Culinary Arts program at Meridian. Students work with professionally trained chefs to learn food preparation and management techniques that can be applied in large or small restaurants and catering companies. Focusing on preparing entrées, salads, bakery items and quick service specialties, students assist in the operation of two on-campus dining facilities.

PROTECT AND SERVE CRIMINAL JUSTICE

If you’re looking for a career in law enforcement, Meridian’s Criminal Justice program is the place to start. Students will learn and get hands-on training in criminal law, court proceedings, functions of the police, arrest procedures and security. Using critical thinking, students will analyze data in criminal investigations. Students will also learn and apply forensic investigative techniques to process crime scenes and collect evidence. In addition to participating in leadership development, students will develop tactical and interpersonal skills while gaining awareness of the day-to-day operations of public safety. 26 26

BRINGING OUT BEAUTY COSMETOLOGY 2 From learning anatomy and physiology to understanding angles and chemical compounds, the Cosmetology program is equal part academics and creative expression. Following time in the classroom gaining foundational skills for hair, skin and nails, students get hands-on experience in Meridian’s fullservice salon. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to take the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology licensing exam.

METAL WORKS WELDING 1 Sparks are frequently flying in the Welding program at Meridian. On any given day, students apply one of the numerous welding techniques to join, cut or manipulate metal. Whether you’re interested in working for a big company or running your own rig, you’ll learn a variety of welding techniques that will prepare you to handle jobs big and small. This career has been hot since we opened our doors! PRECISION METAL FABRICATION 1 Bend it, but don’t break it. That could be the unofficial motto of the Precision Metal Fabrication program at Tech. This program specializes in advanced welding processes that are used to join, cut, bend, drill, punch and manipulate a variety of metal types. Using elements of traditional welding and fabrication techniques, students design and lay out patterns, interpret blueprints and meticulously follow engineering specifications to complete projects. The completion of Meridian’s Welding program is a prerequisite for this program. 30 30
CNC MACHINING 1 2 Step into the shoes of a master creator with CNC Machining. Armed with blueprints and custom-made plans, students in this program will get to design and create intricate pieces. From robust steel to versatile plastic, you’ll learn to work with an array of materials, equipping you with the skills you need to shape your future in machining.

YOUR TIME AT TECH OUR PROGRAMS
Students who live in the Meridian district can attend either a morning or afternoon session during their junior and senior years. When space is available, sophomores can enroll for afternoon programs. Depending on their high school, students can earn 3 or 4 credits per year. Some of these credits count as electives, some count as academic credits. The Meridian STEM Academy, including Pre-Engineering and Biomedical Sciences, is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors. High school students living in the Meridian Technology Center district attend at no cost and should visit with their counselor about applying.
CAREER COUNSELING
Meridian has a career counseling team that is dedicated to helping you succeed while you’re making decisions about coming to Tech, while you’re on campus and after you graduate. In addition to recruitment and enrollment, the Career Planning Center is Meridian’s hub for a variety of services: • Career assessment and exploration • College and career readiness • Cooperative agreements for college credit after Tech • CareerTech Student Organizations (CTSOs)
ADMISSIONS
Have you already decided that attending Tech is what you want to do? Here’s how to get started! • Complete an application and any additional required documents for your chosen program. • Turn your application in to your high school counselor. Proof of enrollment on school letterhead and proof of residence are required. This may be a water or electric bill that shows the physical address of the residence. As part of the application process, you will interview with a member of Meridian’s Career Counseling team. This is an opportunity for team members to learn more about you, your career goals, your academic background and other things you’re involved in at your high school. Don’t let the term interview scare you, this really is an opportunity for you to shine! The early application deadline is February 2. Submissions are accepted through August for fall enrollment if space is available. Apply early for the best chance at getting placed in your preferred program. Programs fill up quickly. Admissions decisions are made in March. Students will receive a letter letting them know if they have been accepted into a program.

DON’T ATTEND A PUBLIC SCHOOL? Home school, private school and virtual school students who live in the Meridian district can attend Tech too! The admissions process is similar to students in Meridian’s district high schools, but we’ll need a little extra information from you: • Proof of residence • Proof of enrollment on virtual school letterhead • Transcript • PreACT or SAT assessments
• Proof of age • Immunization record • Letters of recommendation

ADULT STUDENTS Adults can apply to any program with the exception of Biomedical Sciences and Pre-Engineering. Applications are accepted each April for the fall semester and each November for the spring semester. The Electrical Utility Lineman, Evening Cosmetology, Medical Coding and Billing, Practical Nursing, and Radiologic Technology Programs have admission deadlines that vary.
