We’ve teamed up with the Aston Villa Foundation to bring a Train Like a PRO experience to our students this season.

We are very excited to be able to offer a two week Residential Football Summer Camp for 8 – 16 year olds during the first two weeks of our Summer Camps.

Aston Villa Foundation coaches will be running nine half days training and educational workshops tailored for fun, enjoyment, skills development and understanding of tactical team work in an exciting, friendly and supportive environment.

The football camps are open to all boys and girls from beginners with no experience to those who have been enjoying the sport for a while.

Split into two age groups, 8 - 11 year olds and 12 - 16 year olds the coaching sessions and workshops will be tailored to each groups’ needs.

The Camps in Detail

The programme runs from Tuesday 30th June to Tuesday 14th July inclusive, with arrivals and departures each Tuesday. The cost of airport transfers from Birmingham and Heathrow airports (within daytime hours) is included in the cost and we can arrange for alternative arrival/departure times for a small additional cost.

Aston Villa Foundation Sessions for half a day on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday.

The other half of the day is spent in your choice of either in English lessons or in Activities. Those taking part in Activities will enjoy a fun and varied programme of sports, arts and cultural activities similar to that followed by our International Summer Camps. English is offered at two levels, Advanced or Intensive English. These classes are delivered in groups according to ability. English lessons will be the same as for our International Summer Camps and will offer, in relevant age groups, Advanced lesson for native speakers and Intensive English lessons for non-native speakers.

Evening activities will include bowling, mini sports night, a talent show, film nights and a silent disco.

During the weekends there is a planned programme of cultural trips with a visit to a premiership Football Ground and one trip to London. Other cultural visits will be to destinations such as Oxford, Warwick, Stratford or Birmingham.

Each group will receive nine sessions of Aston Villa Foundation coaching to include five educational workshops covering a range of topics such as:

• Careers & pathways in sport

• Managing Emotions

• Football Analysis

• Nutrition

• Stress & Worries

• Teamwork

The delivery and content of the workshops will be adjusted according to age groups and maturity of participants.

Each participant will receive an Aston Villa Foundation T-shirt and an AVFC string bag.

Medals, Trophies & Certificates will be awarded for:

• Participation medals for each participant

• Individual trophies based on selected awards

• AVFC medals for winning teams

• Trophy on site for final day

Staying at b rom S gro V e

Accommodation is within the School boarding houses. Many rooms are single rooms but for younger age groups rooms may be for two or three sharing. All rooms, whether single or shared, are ensuite.

We have resident staff who are very experienced in looking after young children and teenagers away from home. The aim is for our young visitors to have fun whilst developing their sporting and English skills.

We offer a very wide range of fun evening activities on site - Football camp attendees will join our Summer School participants for the evening programme. All evening activities and weekend trips are run by our own staff.

Day 1 Mini Games - Giant Jenga, Twister, Arts and Crafts, Face Painting

Day 3 Sports Night; Table Tennis, Football Badmintion, Basketball, Volleyball,

Weekend cultural trips with one trip to a premiership Football Ground (probably not Aston Villa and more likely to be Manchester United) and one trip to London. Other cultural visits might include Oxford etc.

The cost for the two weeks is £3150 which includes transport, ensuite accommodation, meals, laundry, training sessions, English lessons or activities programme, some trips and evening activities. The programme runs from Tuesday 30th June to Tuesday 14th July.
