Dear friends,

There are few places in the world like Fire Island Pines.

For generations, this community has offered something powerful: a place to gather, celebrate authentically and fnd belonging. It has been a refuge, a source of joy and a reminder of what becomes possible when people care for one another.

That same spirit is at the heart of Fire Island Dance Festival.

This weekend, extraordinary artists from across the dance world will transform this waterfront stage into a celebration of movement, creativity and connection. But the impact extends far beyond the performances themselves.

Because of your support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Dancers Responding to AIDS, meals, medication, healthcare, housing assistance, counseling, emergency fnancial support and other life-afrming services will reach people in need across the country.

At a time when many organizations face uncertainty and critical services are increasingly at risk, your generosity helps ensure that care remains accessible to those who need it most. Just last month, Broadway Cares awarded a record $3 million through our National Grants Program, supporting 265 organizations in 45 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.

This is just one of the grant rounds you make possible. And that impact begins here.

Every dancer, choreographer and dance company sharing their artistry this weekend is helping build a stronger, more compassionate future. We are deeply grateful for their talent and generosity.

To our sponsors, Leadership Supporters and the many businesses and residents who open their doors, lend their expertise and make this festival possible, thank you for your steadfast partnership.

And to the members of the Fire Island Dance Festival Steering Committee and Host Committee, thank you for your dedication, vision and countless hours of work. This festival thrives because of your commitment.

Most of all, thank you for being here. Your presence this weekend helps ensure that the sense of safety, dignity and belonging that so many fnd in this community can reach people far beyond these shores.

With gratitude,

Dear Fire Island Dance Festival Attendees:

On behalf of the Fire Island Pines community, it is my great honor to welcome you to the Fire Island Dance Festival.

Each summer, this extraordinary weekend transforms our community into something truly magical. Against the backdrop of the Great South Bay, artists and audiences come together to celebrate the beauty of movement, the power of compassion and the enduring strength of community. For more than three decades, the Fire Island Dance Festival has demonstrated that dance is far more than performance — it is a language that connects us, inspires us and reminds us of our shared humanity.

This year, that message feels more important than ever.

At a time when so many forces seek to divide people and to marginalize our most vulnerable community members, dance brings us together. It transcends differences, fosters understanding and creates moments of joy and connection that remind us we are stronger when we stand together.

For generations, Fire Island Pines has served as a place of belonging, acceptance and self expression. The Fire Island Dance Festival embodies those values in their purest form.

As the sun sets over the bay and the dancers take the stage, I hope you will take a moment to appreciate the remarkable community that has gathered here.

Thank you for joining us, for supporting this important cause and for helping ensure that the spirit of the Fire Island Dance Festival continues to shine brightly for generations to come.

With gratitude and pride,

JEFF HILLER HOST

Jeff Hiller is a beloved actor and comedian, best known for his Emmy Award-winning turn as Joel on HBO’s Somebody Somewhere.

Jeff has built a scene-stealing career across television, flm and theater, appearing in the current Apple TV hit Widow’s Bay, 30 Rock (playing two different characters, because one apparently wasn’t enough), Community, Ghosts, Pluribus and Stumble, among many others. Onstage, he’s appeared in Broadway’s Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Bright Colors and Bold Patterns, Disney’s Hercules, Love’s Labour’s Lost, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Silence!.

If you’d like even more Jeff, his memoir, Actress of a Certain Age: My Twenty-Year Trail to Overnight Success, became a national bestseller - proving that sometimes all you need for an “overnight success story” is decades of dedication to the craft.

Before becoming one of New York’s favorite comedy talents, Jeff worked as a social worker in Denver, supporting homeless youth and HIV prevention.

ABOUT DANCERS RESPONDING TO AIDS

Your generosity, passion and presence have fueled Dancers Responding to AIDS since the beginning. You’ve helped transform a moment of inspiration - sparked in a New York City apartment in 1991 when a group of dancers asked how they could help friends and colleagues facing the AIDS crisisinto a decades-strong movement of care and action.

Your support of Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, has made possible lifesaving services for hundreds of thousands of people. You’ve helped provide healthy meals, access to medication, mental health counseling, emergency fnancial aid and so much more support for people living with HIV/AIDS and other critical illnesses.

You’re supporting the essential programs of the Entertainment Community Fund, including The Friedman Health Center, the HIV/AIDS Initiative, the Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative and The Dancers’ Resource. That means the artists taking the stage at this weekend’s Fire Island Dance Festival, along with countless friends, colleagues and members of the performing arts community, can access the care and support they need to thrive.

And your generosity reaches far beyond Fire Island. You’re providing lifesaving support to more than 450 social service organizations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. That means folks in all corners of the country, many of whom are facing impossible choices between putting food on the table and getting the medical care they need, won’t have to make that choice because of you.

This weekend, as we celebrate Fire Island Dance Festival, we celebrate you - your heart, your hope, your belief that what we do together matters. And we are so grateful you continue to show up, year after year, to make a difference.
