Olive Natural Beauty was founded in December 2009 by Jess Lauren. After managing the leading apothecary in Boston, Massachusetts and graduating summa cum laude from Emerson College with a degree in Marketing, Jess found a lack in the market for handmade organic skin care that focused on the benefits of extra virgin olive oil for the skin.

Having grown up in an Italian household, Jess learned from a young age how beneficial and important olive oil can be to the body’s health. Through using the oil as a cooking staple and seeing her grandparents use it as a regular skin moisturizer, Jess found her perfect skin care product.

Almond Oil Botanical name: Prunus Dulcus

Olive Natural Beauty uses certified organic, unrefined, food-grade almond oil that is known for its ability to soften, soothe, and re-condition the skin. The oil is so soothing that it relieves skin irritation, rashes, itchiness, and burns. Naturally, almond oil balances the skin�s moisture level and has a composition similar to the oil our bodies produce to keep our skin and hair moisturized. It is a gentle oil and works well with even the most sensitive of skins.

Beeswax Botanical name: Beeswax

Olive Natural Beauty only uses all-natural, 100% pure beeswax. Our beeswax is rendered just above melting point to ensure that the wax is a beautiful yellow hue and retains its naturally sweet fragrance. Then, the beeswax is finely filtered free of debris and is ready for use. The refining process is completely natural, no chemicals are used, and it is not further processed.

Olive Natural Beauty beeswax comes from a source with nearly 40 years of experience and a philosophy that producing beeswax in a pure and untainted natural environment creates the highest quality and is the only way. Chamomile Flowers Botanical name: Matricaria Recutita

Also known as German Chamomile, Olive Natural

Beauty uses organic chamomile for its antiinflammatory, antiseptic, and calming properties. Our chamomile flowers soften the skin and contain alphabisabolol which encourages tissue regeneration, making it a perfect candidate to promote healthy skin and combat aging.

Cocoa Butter Botanical name: Theobroma Caocao

Not only is cocoa butter an ideal skin care ingredient because it is the most stable fat known and melts at body temperature thus is easily and readily absorbed into the skin, but because it contains a variety of antioxidants to overcome free radicals that destroy skin cells and lead to premature aging. In particular, the butter contains flavanoids and polyphenols which are highly effective, naturally occurring antioxidants that neutralize free radicals and give it a shelf life of over 3 years. The butter contains balanced levels of minerals including calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, manganese, copper and iron, all of which are in a extremely natural state allowing the skin to more easily absorb them. Fennel essential oil and Fennel Seed Botanical name: Foeniculum Vulgare

Our organic fennel is naturally antibacterial, stimulating, and regenerating. It has been known to firm and decongest skin, as well as improve memory. Long used in Italian cuisine, not only does fennel provide multiple benefits, but it blends seamlessly with our 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil.

Grapeseed Oil Botanical name: Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil

With a silky, light texture and no odor, grapeseed oil makes an ideal moisturizer because it is easily absorbed by the skin. Olive Natural Beauty uses the highest quality organic Grapeseed oil because its fine texture makes it non comedogenic.

Grape seed oil has mildly astringent qualities that help to tighten and tone the skin, giving the oil its anti aging benefits. The oil contains essential fatty acids such as linoleic acid which is very important to keep skin and cell membranes healthy.

The oil is rich in linoleic acid, vitamin E, polyphenols and flavonoids. Linoleic acid helps the skin to retain water, making dry skin less common, and in fact most dry skin is caused by a deficiency in linoleic acid. Palm Oil Botanical name: Elaeis Guineensis

Olive Natural Beauty only supports organic Palm oil sources that adhere to strict environmental sustainability programs. As is our standard, the harvester and manufacturer of the Palm oil we source adheres to highly detailed sustainable harvesting protocols with oversight from state and third party environmental programs including EcoSocial, and the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil.

Palm oil is naturally the richest dietary souce of provitamin A carotenes, such as beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and lycopene. Carotenes are not only valuable nutrients and powerful antioxidants but are important because our bodies can convert them into vitamin A, sometimes refered to as natural retinol. Vitamin A is essential to healthy skin function and is most beneficial because it keeps the skin wrinkle-free.

Palm oil contains 15 times more provitamin A carotenes than carrots, and 300 times more than tomatoes. The oil also contains at least 20 other carotenes along with vitamin E, vitamin K, CoQ10, squalene, phytosterols, flavonoids, phenolic acids,

Our organic rosemary is very beneficial for problem skin because of its antibacterial and decongestant properties. Rosemary may prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine, a chemical that allows neurons within the brain to communicate with each other. Several laboratory studies suggest that rosemary contains compounds that prevent carcinogenic chemicals from binding to cells.

Sodium hydroxide is completely consumed in the saponification process and is used because it binds the oil and water together to produce what we know as soap.
