Hearing from the players…

The U13 Girls have done exceedingly well in their hockey. Ahead of the ISHC Cup National finals next term we asked Captain Millie and Coach Miss Parker some questions and reflections of the season, and about their exciting journey to Nottingham. Millie says…

1. What has been your favourite moment of the season so far? My favourite moment of the season was after we beat Bromsgrove in the quarter final of the national cup. It was lots of fun celebrating the victory with the rest of the team.

2. What has made the team so successful this year?

I believe that the reason the team are successful this year is because we are all committed to training and put 100% into every match, as well as working very hard for each other.

3. What are you most looking forwards to about the finals in a couple of weeks?

We are all really looking forward to the finals to test ourselves against the best schools in the country, and to experience an amazing opportunity that we will always remember.

Miss Parker says…

1. What has impressed you most about the u13 girls?

Their grit and determination on and off the pitch, combined with their calmness in high-pressure moments, have been key. They have come together as a team, working cohesively with strong morale and high spirits.

2. How has the team developed over the course of the season?

The team’s confidence has grown alongside stronger on-pitch communication, inspiring them to motivate one another and give maximum effort right through to the final whistle.

3. What are you most excited for in the national finals?

It will be a pleasure to see the girls compete at the Nottingham Hockey Centre against some very highperforming schools. They have worked extremely hard to reach this stage, and I am excited to see the hockey they will put on display.
