VISUAL MERCHANDISING

garment design

This design reimagines a traditionally masculine garment as a feminine, vintage-inspired 1920s shirt dress. Using upcycled materials, I deconstructed the original pieces and refined the silhouette with hand-sewn gold polyresin buttons and silk crepe belts. The final look balances oversized softness with tailored structure, blending minimalism, subtle luxury, and timeless elegance.

This design transforms denim jeans into a structured yet relaxed, minimal silhouette. After deconstructing the denim, I used French darts to create a tailored A-line, knee-length dress with repurposed waistband straps. A subtle two-tone wash, grey ribbon accents, and front pockets add thoughtful detail while maintaining clean simplicity.

Designed for Project Funway, this look reflects contemporary structure, subtle contrast, and confident simplicity.

This work demonstrates my ability to translate conceptual inspiration into textile samples through fabric manipulation, color development, and refined construction techniques.

Technical

This highlights my technical design skills, including fashion illustrations and flat technical sketches. These works demonstrate my ability to translate creative concepts into precise, production-ready visuals while maintaining proportion, detail, and garment accuracy.

Visual merchandising

In partnership with the brand Curio, our group had the privilege of showcasing our visual merchandising skills for a display store project. I contributed to concept layout planning and product sequencing to create harmony through a neutral color palette and intentional grouping.

I also helped style the mannequin as the focal point using height and proportion. This project allowed us to apply design principles in a real retail setting while maintaining a warm and welcoming vibe for future curio customers.
