Sizes
At BRISQUE, you’ll find your unique, customizable snaffle and double bridle sizing All parts of our bridles –headpiece, cheekpieces, and nosebands – can be combined individually in both design and size, tailored to your horse’s needs Adjust everything precisely to fit your horse’s or pony’s head and mix and match as you wish. We’re only satisfied when everything fits perfectly.
The easiest way to determine the correct size is by using a measuring tape and a well-fitting snaffle or double bridle as a reference directly on your horse’s head Here's how:
Browband: Ideally lay it flat in front of you and measure straight from left to right without following any curve A longer total length will not affect the natural curve
Bit strap: Measure from bit ring to bit ring (where the bridle attaches to the bit), going over the neck The bit strap should not rest on the sensitive cheekbone, but about 1–2 cm behind it
Swedish noseband: Measure the nose circumference about 2cm below the cheekbone The noseband should be at a right angle to the cheekpieces and lie straight across the horse’s nose.
Cheekbone freedom: Measure the distance between the two noseband straps attached to the main noseband It’s best to measure this on a snaffle laid flat or directly on the horse’s head
Noseband length: Measure from the top edge of the noseband on one side to the other. It should lie about 1–2cm behind the cheekbone and never directly on the sensitive cheek area

The Swedish noseband is fastened with a crank buckle Thanks to its soft padding, there is no need for excessive tightening to ensure a good fit
English Combined
Hanoverian
The Hanoverian noseband is buckled below the bit and is particularly suitable for sensitive horses with a lot of mouth activity
The English noseband is fastened without a crank mechanism
Mexican
The Mexican noseband crosses over the bridge of the nose. The strap is buckled underneath the bit and combines an optimum fit with maximum breathability

The Noseband
Our nosebands are anatomically shaped and taper towards the bit rings They ensure a high degree of freedom for the mouth and sensitive cheekbone and optimum pressure distribution on the sensitive bridge of the nose. Our nosebands are 4.5 cm wide as standard – narrower nosebands can also be produced on request Each bridle is supplied with a flash strap and flash strap loop

Anatomical design with integrated noseband
our anatomically shaped headpiece features an integrated noseband and a generous, pressure-relieving contact area between the ears. Carefully contoured with ear cut-outs for maximum comfort

All of our browbands are handcrafted and individually adorned with high-quality crystal chatons You can customize size, shape, curve, and color entirely to your personal vision This makes every BRISQUE browband a true one-of-a-kind piece. Our browbands are available in the following sizes: Pony (approx. 38–39 cm), Cob (approx 40–40 5 cm), Full (approx 43–44 cm), and XL Full (approx 45–46 cm) All browbands come with a loop width of approx 3 cm and fit all BRISQUE snaffles and double bridles, whether flat- or round-stitched (Need a larger loop? Good to know: A longer browband doesn’t automatically create a deeper curve. Each of our browbands is precisely shaped, so the elegant curve remains consistent across all sizes Slightly curved browbands have a drop of approx. 4 cm measured from the base line, while strongly curved browbands drop approx. 8 cm.

Each browband is a handcrafted jewel After exposure to rain or sweat, gently pat dry with a soft cloth to prevent tarnishing of the crystal settings. Avoid harsh cleaners or glass polish – they can damage both the settings and the fine leather To keep your crystals sparkling, use a soft toothbrush and a little lukewarm water
